Looks quite nice actually. The signal lights remind me of the BMW 5 series’s eagle eyelids. From a side profile, the car looks a bit too tall for me. Although K-cars generally look like this, somehow this doesn’t feel like a K-car to me. Looks bigger.

  • Finally, a new model! Proton is sure the slowest automaker in the world. I can't believe they're still selling the Iswara, and expect to compete internationally.

The first two photos look nice!

In the last one.. the wheels and wheel arches look like they don't fit with car. The car sits *high* on the front wheels with generous overhang, and then the rear *slumps* on the two tiny-looking wheels, with virtually zero overhand at the edge of the rear bumpers. Looks gawky, dang.

Or maybe it's just the photo!

  • Maybe it's just the photo. The front wheels of the car aren't straight in that photo… it's a bit turned to the left. Probably that's what causing the front wheel arch to look like that.

  • Oh well, at least its got new look, for a proton. Its useless to predict doom for every proton car coz most of us Malaysians are going to buy them anyway(no choice). Anyway, i am very pleased with the design, any info on the engine besides it being 1.1 litre Paul? Perhaps i'll recomnend it to my grandpa, he's to buy a new car next month, the currnent car he has is the old Proton Tiara(don't get me wrong!!!!!!

  • All I know is it's a Renault engine, not a Campro. Feature-wise should be from the same era as the F4P found in the Waja 1.8. Variable valve timing and electronic throttle maybe?

  • 1st there's the "What A Junk Automobile" and sad to say, I used to own 1. Next comes Junk 2. Will this TRM be Junk 3?

Will it follow Protons' tradition of premature power window failures? Time will tell.

  • Proton really need to improve, being a Malaysian I would definately support local product….but after so many yaers down the road the improvement of proton still not really significant….I am so disappointed…..please lah do somenthing better and fight back with other competitors and most important give the consumers a product that "value for money"

It look good in the front, i am worry about the engine and hp for the car. bcoz kerd weight of the look more than 1000kg. So if the cc or hp too low, it will drive like the ATOS(picked up like turtle).

Anyway love our country ,love our country car.

  • By the way I disgree with CH statement that Proton is the slowest automobile in the world by selling Iswara. Look I read their profile and they started being in this industry only in mid 80s so what do you aspect from them?

Iswara may be out dated but do you realise it has been sold almost 300K units nationwide…does that mean our Malaysian people are out dated as well?

So carefully set yr statement cos you may make a fool of yr self ok…

  • 1.2 for 42k-45k!!..huh..nevermindlaa proton…no matter how much u sell, what model u offer, good or bad, u're the the one in our heart.

u still cheap what..thanks to our government policy that protect our local automotive industry by imposing a high tax to other cars compared to u..

And we m'sian..have no choice but to pay the excise duty and tax (local cars) to "them" cash and we'll suffer for the next 5 to 7 yrs…. we love malaysia!

Hope "them" imposed a more slightly reduce tax.. wat u all think huh…dont take too muchlaa..

Sampai sekarang pusat servis tak dpt detect apa masalahnya..

Bukan saya nak kondem proton ttp byk sgt problem menyebabkan saya rasa kecewa utk memiliki kereta proton.

Seems like the only thing the manufacture had learn from the past 20 years is to use the word 'make in Malaysia' to shut everybody's mouth up. Made in Malaysia so what? The price cheap because of others' tax high. Why those local assembled japs' brand can be better? They also made in Malaysia. I doubt where billion and billion of ringgit which injected into the company and were spent.

Car is cheap but doesn't mean we bought it with an inexpensive price(after calculate the taxes, meterial, equipment and other stuffs). Korean brands also have a similar years of history. Why they can be much better quality with slighly higher in price, and we can't? Stop lying to yourself as well as other people.

  • dear ahmad hakim…saya juga pengguna gen 2 (04 model) seperti anda…tetapi malangnya saya tidak pernah mengalami sebarang kerosakan yang anda katakan…my car..in all honesty…tiada defect…to me, absorber yang keras tu adalah untuk memberikan "sporty" ride kepada gen 2! interior yang tiada glove box tu adalah dari concept minimalization yang designers at proton cuba nak buat…to me its all about perspective…we are all used to japanese concept of a car…that we forget about other concepts from the US and europe.

thats all i want to share. feel free to reply.

even its a liile sacarstic, betul juga apa yg dikatakan oleh KADAM tu…harap orang-orang kat proton tu janganlah sensitive sangat dan cuba dengan lebih baik untuk upgrade produk…setlah highest target (kalau punu tak boleh capai kesemuanya, at least boleh sampai target yg high)…jangan jemu dengar komen pengguna…proton dah lama lingkup pun kalau kerajaan dan lebih lagi pengguna-pengguna macam kami ni tak bantu…jadi pikir-pikirlah kawan.

    Cuba beri komen yg matang.

Dgn harga RM 50K for Gen.2, mmglah ada masalah. What do u expect?

Harganya murah so don't expect too high. FAUZI B SHARIFF dah test drive ke belum? kalau belum, don't easily judge. By just judging from the pictures given, itu orang buta pun boleh buat komen. So, komen biarlah berpada-pada.

So dapatlah yg murah2 ni.

    Fair and square.

    Hi all

Yep betul. I setuju dengan Yusri.

Cannot expect too high on Proton products. Nevertheless, Savvy will still serve people needs and still does the job on four wheels to where ever you want to go.

Now I have 2 split decissions, getting a Savvy or a slightly larger hatchback Myvi? Savvy is cheaper and even if I'm going to get it anyway, for long trip, I'd rather prefer my Toyota Corolla Altis. And yes, yet again I agree with Yusri that Savvy is suitable to drive inside metro region. Nice for youngsters who has just start college with that sum of price and small to turn into any corners.

all of you dah check ke berapa murahnya harga kereta tempatan berbanding dengan kereta lain…

pasal apa harga kereta luar tinggi…

    no body knows….

  • Ramai yg comment, wak pun nak join jugak… pd wak ape yg di komen kan tu ada betul kesemuanye.. masing dgn persepsi sendiri, tp bg wak, wak sgt setuju dgn geng yg kritik Proton, sbb wak pun pkai sebiji juge.. wak mmg anak jati M'sia walau pun jawa peranakan, jd tetaplah wak akan sokong ape aje brgn buatan M'sia. Cuma tak sepatutnye lah Proton kluarkan kerete yg mcm rokok daun yg wak isap, x patutlah klau versi utk luar negara full spec tp utk rakyat jelata mcm tin susu, kawan2 pulak jgnlah bg alasan klau nak best beli Merc, Volvo, BMW dll lg keta Continentel, org kt Jepun pun mcm kita juge, ada yg misken ada yg kaya, yg kaya pakailah Lexus nye, yg misken pkai Mira jer, tp Mira2 pun brake discnye 4, ada Airbag dll lg lah, jd apa yg menjd masalah sampai org komplain baaanyak sgt? haa klau x rosak takkan lah org komplain kan? maknanya setidaknye buatlah yg betul2 berkualiti… jd wat warga Proton, wak tau korang hanye manjalankan tugas & bekerja sebaik mungkin, yg memegang polisinya tu ha, yg dah tua bangka duk perabih duit rakyat je sejak dr azali!!! ko nnti kt Akhirat tau ler apa Tuhan nak bg kat ko!!! anyway wak cuma nak nasihat, mmglah kita marah dgn segala kerosakan & kerugian merepair kete Proton kesayangan kita, tp jgnlah kita hentam aje Proton tu, kita bg semangat lah skit kt diaorg, bg sedikit masa, wak dpt rasakan, akan dtg mungkin klau wak dh takde, Proton akan jd Jenama yg sama hebat mcm Honda, Toyota, Suzuki, Hyundai, Kia, Samsung.. malah lebih hebat dr diaroang tu.. so for Proton if you really dare to change, then do it wisely, don't jus propagate it, we Malaysian will proudly support you!!! kesuwon!!! hehe

Honestly, if proton were to improve it's capability to compete with Japan car manufacturer, it'll have to learn about technology and do some research. Don't just sit and besarkan bontot aje and makan gaji buta. What's proton's engineers been doing all these years? Isn't there any designer in proton or proton only hold a contest inner-plant for it's new car? A contest that was participated by old people? EAT BLIND SALARY…

And Yusri, you are the dumbest person I ever met. You don't know what's value.

    You don't know what's money.

And most of all, you don't know what's value for money. You spend your money to buy junk that proton provide. For your information, I'm driving a Nissan Sentra 1.6SLX 1989 still doing well like new.
