Proton Savvy R3 Concept at Proton Edar Mutiara

Proton Edar has the Proton Savvy R3 Concept on show at the 3S Center at Mutiara Damansara beginning from today. If you are in the area drop by to see what Race Rally Research has in store in the future for the Proton Savvy.

The Proton Savvy R3 Concept is a one-off prototype and the specifications are not finalised yet. Targets for the final R3 version of the Proton Savvy would be similiar to the Proton Satria R3, which is a lighter and more powerful car ready to attack the track with great handling.



For this concept prototype, the boys at Race Rally Research have managed to pump up the engine output to 85hp from the 74hp in the stock engine with revised camshaft profile as well as intake and exhaust modifications. Torque is up to 110Nm from 105Nm. The car runs on 16 inch Advanti Racing RSW-01 rims, the same ones used on the Satria R3. Wrapping those delicious rims are Yokohama Advan Neova AD07 rubber. This answers anyone’s question on what kind of rims the Proton Savvy can take.

The bodyshell is lightened with less soundproofing and discarding unnecessary items. This brings the weight of the car down to 825kg from the original 953kg. Even the fog lamps have been changed to lighter ones!

Suspension for the car has also been tweaked, with spring and damping rates tuned by the R3 team. Ride height has been lowered, and rubber suspension bushing is stiffer.

0-100 time has been improved to 11.5 seconds and top speed gains an additional 5km/h bringing it up to 175km/h.

To help the car come to a stop as fast as it moves from a stop, the front brakes have been upgraded to ventilated cross-drilled discs with R3 brake pads, which I assume would be the Mintex type found on the Satria R3? The rear brakes remain as drum brakes though. It’s a shame. Discs look good with sports rims especially the thin spoke type like the Advanti RSW-01 rims on this car. Even the ABS system is weight-optimized.

The car comes with a MOMO Tuner steering and Recaro SR4 seats with matching R3 red and black trims.

    I went to see the car. The body is strong and tough by UNFORTUNATELY the roof towards the back of the car is a bit low. I sat at the back and there is NO room between my head and the roof of the car. You cannot sit up straight at the back ! By the way, I am not very tall, just 5ft 7.

    So you may want to think twice before ordering one.

  • Honestly speaking,this car looks really ugly does not worth of 50k.I rather to buy a myvi which has far more better look,better performance.Until now,proton still cannot make a good car.

  • the stock savvy already costs 50k and I am sure that R3 version costs more than that.What I can say is after so many years,proton still cannot come out a good car.All of the model of the car look alike,nothing much different at all.Is it because it is protected by the akta government so they don't really care a damn to produce a good car?

    Our son Proton is now 30 years old, still studying in the University, and when there was a big bully push him around, father have to make a trip to the school to inform the teacher , and look for the bully.

    Poor old father is now 65+ and one will imagine how long will father still need to do this.

    Our son Proton graduated and started working is a big firm, at now age 40, married and have child of his own, his manager scolded our son proton and make him do the report again, poor old father, now at age 75+, DO YOU THINK HE NEED TO GO TO THE OFFICE TO SCOLD THE MANAGER.

    lol, macam2 ada. (refering to the comments, not the car). Man, i just love the R3 boys…since my mum alrdy book a magma Savvy, it quite possible in the future, i'll get Savvy R3. Son and mum in Savvy. Hehehe…but i'm looking forward for SRM R3 or Gen-2 R3. Although recent article that they might have Waja R3, i feel Waja is too old for that.

  • Harry: I agree. Proton seems to be trying to be something similiar to Mazda. Mazda has always emphasized on it's sportiness, with it's Zoom-Zoom slogan. Just compare the Mazda6 to the Toyota Camry :P Mazdas aren't suitable for the general public. Thus I don't think Proton's approach is good when it's supposed to provide affordable cars to ALL RAKYAT, not just those who like sporty kind of cars like Mazda lovers do.

    hmm… my head is banging right now n still confuse, Poul, please do give me some ++ advice! is Savvy really that good, my wife bagging me to buy Myvi, but my heart keep telling me that Savvy is worthy… both of them actually did have a nice accesories, so which one of them is the best? can Proton really give a green light to the Renult QuickShift on it Savvy's or it just a gimmick? cos it's sound to good to be true… if it's for real then this is the best news for us all (Proton Die Hard Fan) but can it really be affordable to us All RAKYAT?! what do u think? please answer as jujur as it can be… by the way, the comment sent by edw is really somthing to ponder upon…

  • The Savvy's interior is juz too cramped… For a car that's selling for RM42k++, its juz doesnt offer the space that car buyers expect for the money they pay.

    Plus there's no automatic windows at the rear, and you have to adjust the side rear-view mirrors manually??

    What r we paying RM42k++ for?

    & to sum up the look of the car… its juz BUTT UGLY!!! & i do mean the butt(rear end) of the car… Too superfluous, too made up. Proton should learn to create a more subtle tail end. Juz look at the GEN2's sorry-bulbous-ugly arse…

    Well, credit to Proton for making the Savvy's gearshift short, responsive & sporty tho… Thats the only part i like bout the car.

    DO you notice that the back 'design'of the SAVVY is actually the font of Proton ISWARA ??? TAKE A GOOD LOOK and you will know what I mean. Maybe the PROTON guys have too much spare parts for Iswara, so they 'RECYCLE'it as the back portion of the SAVVY ??

  • Againlah comparison to Myvi, Savvy should be compared to the ever popular Kelisa if you want to compare that is. Its not big enough for a mini MPV which the Myvi is and the size is similar to the Kelisa but with a bigger capacity engine for more fun. Myvi should be in the same group as Aveo, Getz or Jazz.

    The R3 concept shown in this picture is a nice prototype that the Malaysians can ciplak and make their own. For performance enhancement, Speedworks should be in hand to help – no need to wait for Proton R3. Body kit can be supplied by lots of fibre shop in Sunway. Wheels and tyres – just go to Klang and you will be spoilt for choice.

    Regarding the design, at first the Savvy looks damn ugly. However when you compare it to Myvi, Savvy wins hands down. Have you ever seen a Myvi on the road in its OE form? Well just think of a Goldfish with 4 wheels…At least on the road, the Savvy looks lika a hot hatch even in its OE form.

    So, who ever had put their deposits on the Myvi, to bad and don't be cruel by bad-mouthing the others who will go for the Savvy.

    Adan, U can compare Savvy with whatever the car of your choice, but MyVi is selling, how many book U already sign for the Savvy? 1 or 2 !

    tahniah proton dgn keluaran baru. tapi perodua lagi hebat. xbanyak cerita tentang teknologi tapi kereta berkualiti berbanding proton yg suka canang tentang teknologi tapi enjin masih SOHC.kelakar..pernah org kuat proton kata mat saleh puji keta malaysia. puji apa? aircond..stupid.. belah2 sana mana lah sepanas malaysia memanglah aircond boleh performed.

    berdasarkan apa yang telah aku bacer, secara logiknya aku fikir betul jugak. 1st, Proton said that they dare to change tapi la, serupa tu jugak. Pebendeler proton nie. technician proton aku baca kat buku semua kelulusan luar negaro tapi pehe nyer pi pasang enjin renult kat keter tu? buduh bebenor. Pasang ler campro ke apo ker, idakpun downgrade ler campro 1.6 jadik 1.2 ke aper ke, kan bagus.barulah namanyer buatan malaysia. Sbg cth, Waja. Wa respek giler kat proton kerana berjaya cipta kereta yang bagi haku 70% malaysian product. But savvy, no coment. pasai hangpa yang masih lagi buduh-buduh alang pasai savvy ni, jangan cakap ar pandai,test lu. mana tau, lagi bagos drpd keter japan yang korang dok banggakan sangat tu,cth toyota, honda dan europe nyer especially merc and bmw. haper, ingat berteknologi sangat ke kete depa tu, lebih kurang sama jeer semua. tak caya trai naik bmw 3 series ngan merc clk 200. sebijik punya ler sama. rupa pun kalau tengok semua keturunan sama bentuk jer dua dua kompeni tu. tengok perbezaan antara perdana ngan dua dua cth tu sama jer cuma interior ngan exterior serta engine noise yang berbeza. so, apa yang bagus sangat? dei, wake up lar. dont be a stupid for the whole of your life and then let your generasionz continue it. compare proton with the two "Giant" which had begin their bussiness from late 18's. how many mistake had their repaired? how supid they are at the first 30 years of their company had started to work? same as proton (maybe or WORES) anyway, give some time to proton. see how the new srm look like, better or better to be thrown into old mine.

    Ni….semua orang dok berbalah yang savvy bagus atau tak saya ade satu soalan. Savvy betulke kete atau gurauan proton untuk semua pengeluar keta.

    Dah le saiz kecil shape macam katak harga jualan macamle kete ni sempooi sangat. Itu taktik proton…kalau harga mahal mesti rakyat fikir keta ni ade kualiti. Umpama kucing kurap …saapelar designer savvy. pernah ke mereka lihat kereta yang elok. Mungkin desinger kelulusan SPM pangkat SAP kut.. Dah la tu ajak mai orang jerman dari kaki lima lepas tu bagi awek sebagai rasuah dan suruh luluskan dibawah akta TUV. TUV= Totally Unacceptable Vehicle.

    anyone have a mVyi can test drive on the high way wif me !! try your myVi at 170km/h and feel the car flying like a bird .. the savvy is just tough as it is !! im currently having a savvy and i really like it so much wif all the high-fi system that sound rox but when my fren wif a myvi having the same sound system wif my savyy have a funny noisy every where in the car LOLZ

    tak kesah la.. mana2 pun… korang punye suker la nak beli aper pun.. myvi ke savvy ker… korang punye duit.. aku minat savvy.. firstly pasal die punye look.. aku rasa cute sangat.. masa nak beli aku try compare dgn myVi.. mmg ramai yg suggest aku beli myvi.. mmg myVi.. lebih luas.. power window dpn belakang.. tp hati ni tak jatuh cinta kat myVi.. aku puas hati pakai savvy.. sungguh puas hati. problem kat power steering tu mmg aku pun problem gak.. tp aku keep in mine.. bende ni manusia yg buat.. nak tak nak .. problem mesti ader… yg penting korang belila mana yg korang mampu..kalau boleh jgnla kutuk2 savvy.. sian la org mcm aku ni.. gaji sederhana jer.. ni baru first time pakai kete.. rasanyer mmg tak tukar sampai biler2 dah.. mana mampu.. terlanjur beli.. aku nak beli yg aku suke.. so plz la yer.. korang takpe la banyak duit…

    Aku pon taktau nak cakap apa daakorang gadoh-gadoh nie watpa,aku pun penin kepala laaa,Abang aku lepas habis universiti ni kata nak beli Savvy,mak aku pulak dah order MYVi,tapi memang aku mengaku perodua tu assemble jer,aku dah tengok dah daihatsu sirion turbo ngan toyota passo,sama je design,yang lain bumper,tempat no.plate ngan lampu depan,savvy lak tahniah kepada malaysia kerana dapat design keta tapi mahal laaa,nak compare svvy myvi memang tak acik sebab lain kelas.tak sangka pulak savvy yang baru tuh boleh bocor minyak power stereng,kata TUV approoved……myvi harap senang carik sparepart sebab ada 3 pihak-daihatsu,toyota ngan perodua…..semoga proton maju jaya dan perbaiki mistakes anda:)

    Apsal kau ni bengap sangat? Apa kena mengena beli P1 dan P2 dengan cintakan Negara? Aku pakai kereta import tapi aku masih cintakan Negara. Kau jangan buat orang marah buat statement bodoh macam tu. Personally aku suka myvi, dan akupun suka savvy. No big deal about that.

    Cuma aku tak suka harga kereta dinaikkan secara “artificial” hanya untuk “survivekan” P1. Kalau P1 boleh buat kereta cantik dan murah dan berkualiti tanpa menyusahkan rakyat Malaysia, then go ahead make my day.

    I got savvy with green-appel colour, everybody said it’s nice look.

    One thing I want to tell you,

    Once I drived savvy, I feel like continental car.

    More fantastic !!!! fuel consumption like Japanes car.

    Now’s a day fuel’s price quite exspensive,

    It’s good for less budget’s life.

    just think that you kind of rush n you have to speed up but your car cant accept the speed n unstable…. i use savvy to go back to kelantan plate no WNL **** fuel rm 40 for 440 km speed 120 kmh- 160kmh time to time. n steady for outrunners… think b4 talk. judge after tested… hidup proton, kemajuan dapat dilihat teruskan usaha… p/s: kalau nak try test power kita outrun kat mana2 mari laa bapak myvi sikit tak goyang….

    I dont know what to do when i heard that Savvy R3 will be on the road soon. But when ooo? Dont knowlah. I dont know lah what the major objectives of proton. To produced a national car ah? then come out with the good design and affordable car loh. Not need to look likes sport car lah or a rally car lah. I really appreciated when you re design a rear of Savvy as publics see in the Savvy R3, but Mahalel we (a Malaysian) did not ask you to turned it as a rally car! and of course that to cover the cost you simply increase the price! please consider our taste lah not your taste alone.     Kalau nak test drive, contact minah.. Best wei bawak Savvy, minyak save. Lepas tu kalau bawa laju pun stady aje. Janganlah compare Savvy dengan Myvi, kebetulan keluar masa yang terdekat ajek. Tapi minah bawak Myvi, bawa laju sikit dah goyang satu body. Minah punya body pun ikut goyang. Suspension tak bagus kot. Nampak gemuk sikit itulah kelebihannya pun. Tapi customer minah ada cakap Myvi punya button aircond 'gedabak'sangat. Macamlah jari orang besar gajah. Jengok-jengoklah showroom Proton Edar, Savvy yang anggun, yang molek, yang comel macam Minah juga. Hari raya yang lepas yang dok order Myvi tak dapat2 semua lari pergi beli Savvy yang ready stock. So, fikirlah..

    aiyoyo…like an old hag using make-up….the savvy no matter how to soup up still looks butt ugly IMHO. I know that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder…but it takes some sordid mind numbing imagination to even make it vaguely impressive. what stupid sour excuse of lifeform blantly plagiarize the freelander and think the idea would be great for a hot hatch.

    That being said, kudos to the team at proton for the AMT transmission. Looks like not all the staff in the proton plant have their heads above the clouds and for a couple k's extra..the AMT is well worth it.

    As for the myvi…well compared to the savvy i think theres no question that the myvi wins hands down. Forget all the technical aspects ..the sales figures speak for themselves. Sure the savvy is "our car" compared to the myvi which is a jap car assembled in malaysia..but come to think of it..so was the wira (and look at the number of wira's on the road today).

    savvy ni memang best,aku pakai lantis dah habis dekat2 50 ribu under modified dan harga lantis pun memang mahal dari savvy tapi bila dah bawak savvy ni aku rasa fun sangat memang la savvy ni keta kecik tapi jangan korang bandingkan dengan jenama lain kalau nak sedap pakai beli la bmw,bagi aku korang kutuk ni sebab tak mampu nak pakai keta mahal,dulu aku pun kutuk proton tapi bila dah rasa savvy aku dah puashati sangat2 dengan proton TAHNIAH proton sebab dah buat perubahan

    Yang ni saya kena jawab la sebab banyak sangatmisinformation. Biasanya information yang berpindahdari satu mulut ke satu mulut yang lain akan berubahmenjadi sensasi. Itu lah masyarakat kita. Kita bukanmendapat firsthand info tapi berdasarkan cerita yangtelah ditokok tambah. Ini dia cerita dari orang dalamyang duduk ditengah-tengah R&D PROTON.

    "………..ada kenalan dari kastam boleh confirmkanperkara ni.. member atuk kerja kastam kat kelang danbeliau sendiri yang maklumkan yg salah satu tugas diaadalah buat checking penerimaan barangan proton untukdi pasangkan di negara ni. Satu kontena enjin je..manakala kontena lain adalah pintu, body dansebagainya. sama lah dengan kereta lain juga."

    Kalau kita lalu kat kawasan glenmarie tu, akanternampak lah satu tanda… Kilang Enjin Proton. Tandatu tak duduk kat situ untuk suka suka je. Kalau kitajengok kat dalam…. Boleh nampak besi cair yangdituang kedalam acuan untuk membuat enjin block.Memang proton ada mengimpot enjin tapi dari kelas 1.2dan 2 liter. 1.2liter untuk Savvy (enjin Renault) dan2.0liter untuk Perdana. Tapi untuk enjin 1.3, 1.5, 1.6proton buat sendiri. Untuk pintu pulak… hanyakereta-kereta Perdana sahaja yang proton beli pintudari Mitsubishi. For your information, Untuk membuatpintu sahaja memerlukan dekat 20 acuan. Bayangkan lah4 pintu. Modal itu shaja sudah hampir RM50 juta. Sountuk kereta yang volume kecil, kita beli dari luar.Untuk kereta Isawara, Wira, Waja, Gen2, Savvy… 100%body dibuat di Malaysia.

    "Bayangkan dah 20 tahun menanti kereta Malaysia yangsebenarnya tak keluar-keluar lagi. Bagi yangberkemampuan sudah tentu tak mahu menggunakan injinkenderaan berteknologi 70an, 80an dan 90an yangdiubahsuai. Sudah tentu ramai nak teknologi terkinidan sebenarnya milik kita.     "Selama ini proton bergantung kepada Mitshubishisebagai rakan teknikal. Oleh kerana kontrak selama 20tahun telah tamat. Lagi pun dia orangdah nampak afta nanti dia orang akan masuk balik keMalaysia.

    Perodua… kenapa daihatsu/toyota memberi enjin latestdia orang…. Sebab Perodua tu 100% milikToyota/Daihatsu. Dah lama UMW menjual saham dia orangkepada Jepun. Proton…. Milik Malaysia.

    Wira – Disini berpuluh puluh designer dan engineerProton dihantar ke Jepun untuk kerjasama design keretabaru. Proton dan Mitsubishi kongsi modal. Hampir 2tahun kami disana. Bahagian tengah dikongsi bersama.Depan dan Belakang, design asing-asing. Lampu depandan belakang share sebab nak kurang kan cost. HasilnyaProton Wira-Mitsubishi Lancer.

    Orang akan kata hah kongsi je sebab tak tahu buatkerja…. Tapi ada orang kata apa apa bila Ford danMazda berkongsi bahagian tengah? Ford Laser dan Mazda323 adalah kereta yang sama. Ada orang komplen? Bilaorang Malaysia yang buat begitu… orang Malaysiasendiri yang nak mengutuk. Tak ramai yang tahu seksabekerja kat Jepun sebab dia orang suka curi idea.Bayang kanlah semasa kami design dashboard untukWira… masa tu Mitsubishi sudah pun siap soft toolingmould untuk dashboard kereta dia… Bila mereka tengokdashboard Proton, Mereka sanggup letak designer diadepan design kita untuk mengubahsuai kembali rupabentuk dashboard mereka. Kalau kita pernah tengokdashboard mitsubishi lancer… hampir samakan. Itumereka yang meniru bukan kita. Ianya menunjukkan kitabukan tak pandai… Cuma masyarakat sendiri berfikiranmacam itu.

    Perdana – untuk membuat satu satu design bukannyamurah. Nak balik modal pun lama. Jumlah kereta yangdijual pun kena banyak. So kalau nak buat Perdana….Sampai habis pun tak balik modal. So yang ni memangkita ambil kereta dari mitsubishi dan pasang diMalaysia. Cuma kita tukar depan dan belakang, danbahagian dalaman.

    Tiara – Tiara adalah bukan product Proton. Ia adalahkeluaran DRB. Tapi kita kena tunduk dengan arahan dariatas untuk mereka menggunakan lambang Proton.

    Waja – Waja adalah permulaan kita untuk menunjukkankita mampu melakukan kerja sendiri. 100% didesignorang orang kita. Tapi untuk kejuruteraan kitamemerlukan consultant dari luar.. mainly dari Eropahdan Amerika. Bukan sebab tak pandai tapi kita takcukup kakitangan. Nak design kereta bukan sepertimenjahit baju. Kebaikan dari mengambil consultant dariluar memang membuka mata kita… kita adalah setarafdengan kebolehan mereka. Nak design kereta nimemerlukan beratus ratus kakitangan. Bukannya sedikit.

    Gen2 – 100% didesign oleh orang kita. Consultant dariluar hanya sedikit sebab kakitangan kita semakinramai. Kita mula menggunakan enjin yang didesignsendiri.o

    Savvy – 100% dedesign sendiri. Cuma enjin sahajakita menggunakan Renault sebab kita tidak ada enjinbersaiz kecil. Well…. Kehebatan enjin Renault sudahterbukti bila mereka memenangi F1. Disin banyak beritapalsu disebarkan oleh mereka yang tidak bertanggungjawab. Contohnya… Savvy adalah Tiara dan menggunakanchasis Tiara lama. Savvy tidak ada kena mengena denganTiara. Savvy adalah baru, 100%. Tidak ramai yang tahubahawa Savvy menggunakan HTHS steel (High Tensile HighStrength Steel). Sebab tu body Savvy kuat. Memang adaterpampang kereta Savvy kemek kerana accident. Well…kereta mercedes, volvo, BMW pun kemek bila accident.Tapi tak ramai yang tengok keadaan dalaman Savvy yangaccident tu… In fact. Kukuh. Saudara saudari… Bilakita design kereta ni.. yang paling penting adalahkeselamatan penumpang. Memang kereta didesign untukcrumple bila ada impact. Itu untuk menyerap dayahentakan supaya bukan manusia yang menerima hentakankuat. Rating TUV Germany memberikan 3 star untukProton. BMW 5 series pun dapat 3 star. Ramai yang kataSavvy ni tak sedap bila memandu. Tapi tanyalah yangbercakap tu… adakah mereka pernah memandu Savvy.Kebanyakan nya tidak. Hanya mendengar dari orang lain.

    Lain lain – Ada banyak lagi yang saya tak boleh ceritasebab ada secrecy act. Proton pun ada design keretauntuk company lain dan ada membuat part untuk companylain. Proton ada juga buat reverse engineering untukmotosikal lumba (tahun tu dia champion) tapi kitatidak boleh menceritakan sebab dasar secrecy kita.Mungkin sesetengah orang yang memakai certain keretamewah tidak tahu yang part kereta mereka dibuat diproton. Kalau Proton tak elok… masakan merekamengkontrakkan proton untuk membuat kereta mereka.

    "Berbalik kepada masalah yang sedang dihadapi olehproton. Kenapa ianya harus berlaku perkara sebegini.Apakah yang sebenarnya telah berlaku dan dibuat olehproton dalam masa 20 tahun untuk membina kenderaannasional sendiri. Memang ada R&D proton cubamendapatkan struktur dan bahan-bahan untuk membuatinjin tapi gagal mendapatkan resepinya.

    "Tok….. Proton memang dah ada enjin sendiri. Yangterpasang dekat Gen-2 tu apa dia. Bab-bab bahan untukmembuat enjin tu senang je. Kebanyakan pengeluarkereta menggunakan besi yang sama sebab pengeluar besidalam dunia ni bukan banyak. Kita Cuma bagispecifikasi je. Nak design enjin tu yang susah.Transmition yang paling susah. Untuk info lah… kamimasih lagi dalam proses untuk mereka cipta transmitionsendiri. Bukan macam nak buat karipap tau.

    "Penubuhan proton sejak 20 tahun yang lampau tidakmencapai objektif yang sebenarnya. Dimana silapnya?Berapa ramaikah yang tahu bilakah ilham proton inisebenarnya timbul dan berapa lamakah usaha dilakukanbagi membolehkan impian ini tercapai.

    "Mungkin ramai yang mengganggap hanya seorang perdanamenteri sahaja terlibat. Cuma pada zaman Tun M barupersetujuan dapat dicapai setelah Mitshubishibersetuju menjadi rakan teknikal dengan bersyarat.(syarat ni tak bolehlah diberi tahu.. sebab ianyaadalah OSA)

    Penubuhan Proton lebih mencapai objectif nya. Padamulanya Proton hanya di rancang untuk membuat keretabukan untuk merekacipta kereta. Kita menubuh R&D,Mitsubishi tidak setuju. Ye la… siapa nak bagi kitapandai kan. Cuba check dekat Perodua, berapa ramaijurutera dari Proton bekerja dekat sana, Head of R&DPerodua…bekas Proton, Head of Styling…bekasProton, Head of Planning…bekas Proton, Head ofProduction…bekas Proton (rasa-rasanya dah kena kebasdekat Naza), Head of Engineering Services…bekasProton. Ratarata mereka yang senior dekat sana dariproton. We trained them… orang lain ambil carasenang je.

    Naza pulak.. Head of R&D….bekas Proton. Head ofProduction…bekas Proton. Honda pun ramai bekasProton, DRB Pekan… Head dia pun bekas proton,Inokom… head dia pun bekas proton. Itu kira headje…bukan lagi kira engineer dan designer. So itmeets its objectif untuk memajukan orang-orang kita.Mainly orang Melayu. Naza sendiri tidak menyangkalkereta Naza mainly didevelop oleh bekas kakitanganProton. So… orang Proton tak bagus?

    Kita belum lagi kira bekas pekerja proton yang diambiloleh consultant luar negara… dari America, Eropahsampai ke Jepun.Tau tak kita kakitangan Proton telahmemenangi pertangdingan mereka design kereta anjuranFord. Beliau mendapat tempat pertama. Bukan bertandingdiperingkat Malaysia. Tapi di peringkat antarabangsa.Memang beliau mendapat tawaran kerja dari syarikatkereta gergasi Amerika dan Eropah. Tapi kami tabikbila dia decide nak stay dekat Malaysia sebab taknakanak-anak membesar dinegara lain. Ada orang tau…?

    "Selama 20 tahun proton pergantung kepada pemerintahyang sepatutnya telah boleh berdiri dengan sendirinyasekarang ini selepas perjanjian tamat. Ibarat kata..berapa lama perlu bergantung.. tak kan dah 20 tahunnak merangkak lagi.. nak tambah masa untuk merangkaklagi.. so bila lak nak belajar berdiri dan berjalansendiri tanpa dipimpin lagi..sebab tu exPM kata..kalau dah tak boleh tutup aja…

    "Proton boleh menjadi lebih baik kalau tidak adatanggung jawab kepada negara. Senang aja… buangsahaja pengeluar-pengeluar yang bermasaalah. Tapi apaakan jadi dengan ekonomi. Itu tanggungjawab Protonuntuk negara. Bayangkanlah penjanaan ekonomi protonuntuk negara… berapa banyak kaki tangan Proton…8000. Berapa banyak kakitangan syarikat yang secaralansung untuk membuat part Proton…100,000 orang.Berapa banyak bank dapat untung, berapa banyaksyarikat bumiputra yang naik? Bayangkanlah kami bolehmembantu sedangkan polisi kerajaan tidak membantu.Cuba ingat sebelum timbulnya proton. Berapa banyakwakil jualan bumiputra untuk kereta toyota, nissan,honda? 0… Kosong.

    Mengenai masalah AP pulak perkara tu bukan perkarabaru. Mungkin ada yang tak tahu yang proton jugamendapat AP. Kalau tak.. sure harga kereta proton takserendah sekarang ini. Tak percaya boleh check dutiimport yang dibayar untuk sebuah kereta proton. Nakcheck duti import tak susah sgt.. cuma bandingkanharga kereta proton di kawasan bebas cukai.

    Kita memang tak payah bayar duti impot sebab kita buatkereta kat dalam Malaysia. Tapi tetap kena cukai. Kitatak ada AP. Yang Proton kecewa kenapa terlampau banyakAP dikeluarkan. Lepas tu sebijik-sebijik kerajaan kenatipu. Bayangkan lah kalau kereta KIA yang dibawa masukke Malaysia… harga yang di declare adalah RM8000.Tak masuk akalkan bila kastam approve benda ni. Palingmurah kereta yang pernah dibuat adalah dalam dunia niadalah lebih kurang RM18,000. Itu baru bahan bahandia. Belum lagi kira cost modal acuan, cost tenagakerja, cost R&D. Bayangkan lah banyak mana kerjaanrugi pada cukai. Bayangkanlah banyak mana Naza untung.

    Dasar Automotif Nagara di perlukan bagi meneruskanperjuangan yang belum tercapai disamping menjaga sertamelindungi pemilik kereta proton sekarang ini. sejauhmana boleh bertahan tak tahula..kalau tidak akanbertimbunlah bakal besi buruk bila tiada lagisparepart proton (asalnya milik Mitshubishi) dan akantimbullah barangan made in Jinjang atau sewaktudengannya.

    Saudara… Dalam banyak banyak negara pengeluarkereta, Malaysia lah yang paling kurang memprotectindustry automotive mereka. Rakyat Malaysia juga lahyang paling tidak patriotic dalam hal-hal kereta ni.Walaupun kita telah merdeka, minda kita tetap diajarbarangan lain lebih elok dan tidak membantu barangansendiri. Saya ambil contoh… Thailand membuka pintumereka untuk industri automotif… tapi ada syarat.Kereta yang dibina di Thailand harus lah di exportkeluar lebih dari yang dijual dalam negara nya.Korea… cuba pergi ke Korea dan lihat sendiri disana.Nak cari kereta yang bukan dari Korea…susah.Sebabnya…

    1. memang mereka patriotik.

    2. Cuba pakai kereta import… Lembaga Cukai merekaakan menyusahkan pembeli kereta tu. Sebab kata merekatentu banyak duit.

    Jepun… Semasa mereka belajar membuat kereta hampir80 tahun dulu… nak naik bukit pun boleh undur (bacasejarah toyota), tapi rakyat mereka tetap bangga dantetap membeli. Cuba kat Malaysia…. Kutuk lagi ada.

    Saudara semua… kejayaan sesuatu project negarabergantung kepada sokongan dari rakyat sendiri. Themore people buy, the cheaper things can be. Economicof scale lah tu. Lagi banyak dijual, lagi rendah costpembalikan modal untuk setiap kereta. Nak buat sebijikkereta hampir 1 billion cost dia. Macam mana nak balikmodal kalau kita tak ambil untung. Kilang enjin lagimahal… tapi kita korbankan keuntungan kerana kalaukita dok asyik beli enjin dari luar, masa mana kitanak belajar dan maju. Proton baru 20 tahun. Koreamengambil masa 40 tahun untuk kereta dia tiba ditahapini. Jepun sudah 80 tahun, Barat sudah 100 tahun. Iniindustri kereta. Kalau orang suruh kita fikir nak buatplastik aiskrim tu pun majority kita tak boleh. Inikereta. So yang mengutuk tu… fikir. Lagi banyak kitajual, lagi murah kita boleh jual… lagi banyak duit,lagi baik pembangunan yang kita boleh buat. Setiaptest dan setiap bahan baru yang nak direka memerlukanwang yang banyak.

    Masalahnya sekarang siapakah yang bakal atau bolehdijadikan rakan teknikal. Walau pun Wak Segan nak joinngan proton tapi persoalannya boleh ke..?

    Kenapa..atuk kata macam tu..sebab Wak Segan ni gunaeuro. Sudah tentu la harga kereta proton pada masaakan datang lebih mahal lagi. (salah satu sebab isu APkeluar) Nak mohon Nissan atau Honda atau Toyata jadirakan teknikal memang agak sukar.

    Errr…. Ini kita bagi hint sikit sebab teruk sangatdah ni. Kita tengah develop kereta dengan VW. Sebab tukita jangan dengar saja orang cakap.

    Kalau semua AP ditarik balik lagi banyak masalah akantimbul.. salah satunya adalah AFTA. Mampukah negarakita membayar ganti rugi kepada negara lain yang telahmelaksana AFTA. Mungkin ada yang tak sedar yang negarakita telah membayar ganti rugi RM billion sebabmenangguh perlaksanaan AFTA sebelum ni kapada negaraAsean yg berkaitan.

    Memang kita akan kena penalti sebab adaperjanjianAFTA. Tapi bukan kita nak tarik AP macam tuaja. Jalan penyelesaian masih ada. Kalau negara lainboleh ada polisi dia orang yang membantu industrikereta mereka… kenapa kita tidak boleh. Kerana APChina boleh mengeksport kereta mereka ke Malaysia(kereta Chery hampis masuk), tapi polisi China masihlagi tidak membenarkan kereta kita masuk kesana.Memang dia kata boleh masuk tapi dah 5 tahun mencubapun belum dapat kelulusan lagi. Banyak syarat lagi.India… nak masuk kesana kena letak deposit USD200Million. Belum lagi nak set up kilang daninfrastruktur jualan. Cuba masuk kat Korea… Kita nakjual kain kita kat sana pun diaorang tak nak beliwalau pun kualiti kita bagus. Kuat nya patriotikdiaorang. Kita… apa yang nama lain selain daribarang sendiri mesti bagus punya.

    Bagi yang nak membandingkan kereta kita dengan keretaGerman…. Bukan tak boleh buat. Boleh… tapi sanggupke bayar harga kereta German untuk kereta buatanMalaysia.

    Tok…. Naza yang rata rata import kereta Cuma tukarbumper pun boleh jadi taraf kereta nasional. Peroduayang tak pernah design kereta sendiri (cuma designbumper depan belakang) pun dapat taraf keretanasional… Proton sekurang-kurangnya telah mendidikramai anak bangsa dalam kemajuan teknologi. Dah ramaihasil dari pengalamn bekerja dengan proton diambiluntuk sektor R&D ditempat lain. Bayangkan lah satukumpulan Advance Engine Research Proton terus diambiloleh Petronas. Bukan sorang…. Kesemuanya. Nak kerjadengan R&D proton….. Paling minimum 2nd class upper.1st class berlambak. Selepas berpengalaman… Perodua,Naza ambil.

    Tapi saya tak marah bila orang kata macam-macam pasalproton. Itu hak mereka. Tapi fikirkanlah tenaga yangkami beri untuk memajukan negara dalam bidangteknologi. Boleh sebut tak company mana lagi dalambidang industri yang betul-betul menggunakan kepakarananak Malaysia dalam bidang R&D ni. Kalau kita tidakbelajar… sampai bila kita tidak akan tahu. Dansampai bila kita akan bergantung dengan orang luar.

    Tapi bab support selepas jualan…. saya sendiri puntak puas hati. Sabotaj pun Proton dah biasa kena….Orang curi part semasa delivery kerata tukar denganpart tiruan atau lama. Yang kena komplen… proton.Tapi yang hairannya semasa Perodua recall balik 4000unit Myvi…. Tak ada pulak yang kutuk. Letak sebelahsebelah Myvi dan Savvy… check performance dia. Thenbaru tahu nak kata apa. Jangan dengar orang cakapje… test sendiri. Baru tau.

    Tak lama lagi akan keluar Savvy Auto-Manual….Maksudnya dua-dua jenis gear ada dalam kereta. Malasnak tukar gear… swith to auto. Nak mainciluk-ciluk… switch to manual. Errr.. siapa katakita guna tecnology 70an?

    Selepas membaca tulisan BO, aku menjadi insaf. Tu lah, aku dah cakap tak baik mengutuk kereta negara sendiri tak mahu dengar. BO, aku menwakili pengutuk-pengutuk Proton yang lain, minta maaflah dengan proton sebab kami tak berjiwa patriotik dan asyik nak hentam Proton saja. Lepas ni, aku janji nak campaign kawan-kawan sepengutuk aku yang lain untuk membeli kereta Proton. Tapi belakang Proton Savvy tu boleh ubah sikit tak BO?, Proton Savvy R3 memang cun tapi harganya boleh 'membawa mau'! ada cara lain lagi tak untuk kasi murah sikit harganya?

    apa yang aku leh katakan aku akan sokong bo sepenuhnya,aku ni kaki modified pas ni aku nak jual lantis aku, nak pakai gen2 1.3 nak modified lak nak tukar enjin mit2.0 v6 twin turbo tapi sebelum tu nak buat dulu savvy ni maklom la modified ni kena banyak duit jadi terpaksa tunggu jap ok la semua i loooveee uuu allll

    Terima kasih BO.Orang JEPUN dan Orang PUTIH hendak PROTON jatuh sebab mereka mahu bolot semua keuntungan industri automobil dunia…..apabila ada PROTON…ia terbahagi tiga…..mereka takut PROTON akan menguasai pasaran OIC dan NAM…..mereka tak sanggup menerima nasib seperti GENERAL MOTOR……PROTON baru bermula dgn kereta penumpang,tak mustahil akan masuk ke bidang MPV dan sebagainya akan datang……Mungkin kuncu-kuncu Orang JEPUN/PUTIH….tak perlu bekerja keras utk memburukan PROTON sebab anak bangsa sendiri telah melaksanakanya…..Dalam PERNIAGAAN ( bukan anak bangsa kita ) tiada istilah KESIAN…mereka sanggup bayar berapa sahaja…..asalkan saingan mereka jatuh …….FIKIR lah anak BANGSA KU.     Walau apa pun saya tetap yakin PROTON akan setanding kereta UROPEAN and JAPANESE…..tak kira lah walau pun kita memerlukan bantuan kerajaan itu cara kita…..lihat lah PETRONAS,KELAPA SAWIT….sebagainya……kita baru nak bermula walaupun 20TAHUN itu lama bagi kita,tapi dalam automobil ia terlalu singkat……15TAHUN bersama MITSUBISHI itu pun sekadar ikut arahan….Tapi kita lupa yang kita MAMPU membuat enjin GEN 2 lima tahun berikutnya walaupun menerima kritikan….Orang ASING pasti memerhatikan kita…..BERI SOKONGAN YANG UNTUNG RAKYAT MALAYSIA…..

    jangan asyik nak kutuk jer la beb…korang banding tgk harga s ngan m. mesti s lebih mahal .. tapi , korang tau x yg p2 tpaksa bayar RMXXXk kepada jepun untuk kereta m???? manakala keta s plak mmg harga tu yg xdibayar kepada mana2 pihak atas pembuatannya.     Alo! aku nak kongsi pengalaman aku yg tak seberape nih. 5 bulan aku dah pakai Savvy… takat ni keta aku x ada problem. dalam banyak2 perkara pasal Savvy aku suka part cornering semasa drive…. macam aku lipat motor kapchai aku je rasanya…. stabil… tarak goyang punya. dari segi speed… aku dapat capai 160km/h je sebab keta honda accord baru kat depan aku x bagi overtake… diorang nak laju je… masa tu aku dari batu pahat ke KL lepas makan ikan bakar kat sana le. lain2 hal… kena wait and see dulu. upcoming projek… aku nak pasang R3 bodykit… tapi lambat lagilah… mahal tu siot nak pasang… RM1980.00 lagi skit nak 2K! kalo murah skang jugak aku pasang. :)

    i agree with you~~ when we want to compare, shud compare it with something logically comparable~~ like my boss always said, you cant compare a pencil to a marker pen~~ and expect both to give the same result, or even to say which one much better than the other~~ even you keep compare it until you die, it just reached nowhere~~ coz you compare, and stupidly fight over something not match for the said comparison~~
