[...] The original Pontiac Solstice had a soft top roof which retracted into a flap at the rear of the car when the driver wants the open air roadster experience. This modification by EDAG gives the Pontiac Solstice a hard top roof which extends all the way to the back of the car, and a new boot lid. It gives the roadster a whole new look, similiar to what the British would call a Shooting Brake, like Audi’s Shooting Brake Concept. [...]

desmo: it's a 2 seater station wagon... if you think of it that way the length is just about right, heh.

I always thought a Shooting Brake was a 2 door station wagon, not a hatch. For what I think is the best interpretation of a Shooting Brake, like this one... http://www.astonmartins.com/db4_5_6_s/db5_radford.htm. That Audi doesn't look like it's long enough to qualify. Hot hatch maybe. Shooting Brake? I don't think so.

hehe....imagine the amount of insects the engine front intake is gonna take in. could problably eat a few careless birds. hehe

outside looks good....interior even better. classic sportscar.

the adaptive damping system sure are a good feature to have. the pccb brakes for the porsche seem like overkill for road use. but if you can buy that car...might as well get the whole package porsche intended for you to have.

i like the look of diffusers that end with the fins sticking out like on the f430 and the new wrx sti. looks more muscular and doesnt ruin the look for the backend that much with the black colour.

Adjustable suspensions have been been around for quite some time, my dad's W220 S-Class with AirMatic DC(air-suspension) has it, but instead of having magnetorhetorical fluid, air is used. The ride height can be lowered or raised by pressing a button.

The car can be raised by a good 5cm(supposedly for going through rough roads), or lowered by 2cm. There are two modes, Sport1 and Sport2. Sport1 is for lowered ride height, Sport2 is lowered ride height+harder suspension setting. Above a certain speed, the car lowers its ride height automatically to improve stability, and reduce drag to improve fuel comsumption.

The electronics also alters the suspension setting accordingly, depending on your driving style and roed conditions.

Most high-end luxury cars has them.

Diffusers are vital to channel the airflow beneath the vehicle such that drag is minimised and surface grip enhanced.

The ceramic disc brakes, which as mentioned, provides maximum speed retardation with close to no fade at all. It also improves the ride comfort because it is very light, thus reducing the unsprung weight at each corner, enabling substantially more horizontal suspention movements. Oh, performance is also improved of course. Less weight means more pace. This too,is already in production, most notably for Porsche. It is an option for the 911 (997), standard on Carrera GT. The Ferrari enzo has them too. But unfortunately the cost for these things are massive(around 3-4k Pounds for the 911). So for it to be available for bread and butter cars seems very faar off.

deutsche volks: I dont think its just a trend. It sure it does something to the handling. I watch a demo by Nissan, Skyline R34 with and without the rear diffuser....HUGE differences. The diffuser helps the car to stick to the ground. Besides, this Audi got some amount of power, the diffuser should be well justified.

Any new techie are very much welcome. But I hope the techie suspension will be tough and reliable. Adjustable or not, remember, it's the eletronic that is crucial. I remember an M5 got broke down after a few laps on the track, with a blown up differential and so many faulty indicator flashing. Hehehe... so much for an F1 techies in a road saloon car.

The grill reminds me of those ol skool formula 1 cars! Think 1950's and 60's f1 cars. The back profile kinda makes it resemble the BMW 1 Series a liiiiiiiiitle bit la, but this car looks better than the 1 Series. Heck, ANYTHING looks better than the 1 Series! :P

The interior is quite nice, but IMHO, the "bar" on the door looks absurd! Apa la Audi! Ini kereta da, bukan lori! At least ergonomics were wll thought of in designing the dash. Well placed air con vents even. I think thw VIOS is the only one to suffer air con vents placed by either a person with no hands, or an absolute idiot! :(

Also, does that huge screen serve as a CD player cum Reverse camera cum GPS unit or something? :D

Nice suspension design! Hope it won't just remain as a concept, but come into production! That would be so nice! Imagine having completely adjustable suspension at the touch of a button! So cool... Much better than manually adjusting those Eibach or Koni shocks! ehehehe! Hope it will have a customizable setting though i.e. you can tweak the suspension to your own preference, like NFS:Underground. Not so fun if its just comfort and sporty!

Wow! Paul, that is one hell of a beautiful car. It's a sure head turner on every corner. Except, the Darth Vader grill.....that doesn't do it for me. I like the Le Mans Quattro concept grill better. The design cues looks something like the Clio Sport to me. More of a hatch than a coupe.

Anyway, the interior is quite simplistic. Audi should do better than that. Will it make it into production, Paul? I would sure wants to know more of this car. :)

Wow! Paul, that is one hell of a beautiful car. It’s a sure head turner on every corner. Except, the Darth Vader grill…..that doesn’t do it for me. I like the Le Mans Quattro concept grill better. The design cues looks something like the Clio Sport to me. More of a hatch than a coupe.

Anyway, the interior is quite simplistic. Audi should do better than that. Will it make it into production, Paul? I would sure wants to know more of this car.
