[ UPDATE : The New 2007 Mercedes Benz C-Class (W204) has been unveiled! Click here for details. ]

The Mercedes Benz C-class has always been designed something like a small version of the current generation S-class. So when Mercedes Benz released it’s new W221 S-class recently, we can somewhat imagine how the next C-class is going to look like.

The new Mercedes Benz C-class will be positioned as a true sports saloon, focusing on excellent handling characteristics and a general sporty drive instead of just a smaller alternative to the E-class.

There are also news that the new C-class will come with Mercedes Benz’s first batch of KDI EVT engines. The supercharged KDI EVT is Mercedes Benz’s first camless valvetrain engine, which means the valves are electronically controlled instead of using a camshaft, rocker arms and etc. More details on camless valvetrain engines here.

The new Mercedes Benz C-class should be unveiled at the 2007 Geneva Motor Show.

Sports Saloon? Do you think this is a right move by Benz? Their cars have always been the more luxury oriented in the class while the BMW 3 series has attracted the more 'sporty' customers, while Audi has been taking the middle road….

helllo…….was anything mentioned that the photo is a c-class…the blog was only mentionining that we can imagine what it will look like based on the s-class…so the photo is actually an s-class only-to help us imagine what its brother, the c-class may look like

Is it just me or are the Germans trying to outdo each other with weird looking cars.

First it was the Bangle BMW, then the widemouth Audis…..then it looks like Mercedes has joined in the fray.

No one makes conservative, yet purposeful and powerful German sports sedan anymore?

Crap…maybe I'm geting old…the last 5 series is the epitomy of an Executive German Sports sedan.

This is not a C-Class, this is an S-Class coupe', Mercedez Version of a coupe' with 4 door. It's called CLS. It's launched in 1Q of this year. I saw the first unit in Spain in May. 1 month back I saw one around Mutiara D'sara. They're quiet rare.

Merc always have these versions, like C-class coupe is SLK, the E-class Coupe is CLK, and the S-class coupe is … don't know what they call it. But this is the first 4door coupe, built with the aero of a coupe, but with 4 doors.
