You'd better believe the Germans! They are planning to launch this car in the US by 2007 to boost flagging sales.

Wolfgang Bernhard told journalists at the LA Car Show in California:

"If we get positive feedback on this vehicle you can see it on the streets of California soon".

Bernhard describes the US market as their "most important in the western hemisphere". VW's sales in the US fell 13% in 2005.

I'd buy it!
