Saleen Sport Truck S331 Supercharged

Trucks account for half of all new vehicle sales in America. Is the American consumer’s appetite for trucks and SUVs so great that a supercar manufacturer like Saleen, manufacturer of the Saleen S7 Twin Turbo has to start making trucks?

The Saleen Sports Truck S331 was built to have the utility of a truck, with high horsepower, sporty suspension, aggresive styling and excellent handling of a sports car. Other than the S7, Saleen vehicles are mostly based on Ford models like the Mustang and Focus. The S331 should be based on the F150 or some other truck in Ford’s stables. BTW, if you remember the movie Bruce Almighty, the sports car that Bruce was driving after he got his God-like powers was a Saleen S7.

The S311 Sports Truck is powered by a 5.4 liter 24 valve SOHC V8 engine in both supercharged and normally aspirated form. The supercharged version makes 450bhp at 5200rpm and 500lb-ft of torque at 4000rpm with the help of a patented Saleen Series VI twin-screw supercharger and a dual-stage water-to-air intercooler. The normally aspirted version makes a lower 325bhp at 5000rpm and 400lb-ft torque at 4000rpm.

All that power needs some good braking power so Saleen equipped the truck with 15 inch slotted and ventilated discs in front together with 6-piston calipers. The rear discs are 13.7 inch.

What’s a sports truck without some ultimate bling wheels. This monster is fitted with 23″ forged wheels wrapped with 305/40/R23 BF Goodrich tyres. Changing tyres for this monster would be painful on the wallet.
