[...] The Peugeot 106’s sister was the Citroen Saxo, which was developed to replace the Citroen AX. The Citroen AX of course, was rebadged locally as a Proton Tiara. The Peugeot 106 has since been replaced by the Peugeot 107 (Citroen C1), which shares a platform with the Toyota Aygo. A small car like this could very well replace the Proton Iswara as Proton’s staple offering for the budget market, if it was a sedan instead of a hatchback. Of course, do not misunderstand the mention of the Peugeot 106. It doesn’t mean Proton will be rebadging Peugeot 106 cars, I think it was just used in the report as a reference as to what car Proton and Peugeot would be building together. PSA Peugeot Citroen’s French competitor Renault has a budget automobile developed together with Romanian car manufacturer Dacia, called the Renault Logan, which is basically a Dacia Logan – a Renault Clio platform with a boot. Peugeot could be thinking along the lines of the same strategy Renault has used to enter the budget car market. [...]

Paul, that was the Toyota Aygo. Check out the Top Gear Winter Olympic. This time, they use the Suzuki Swift for a ice hockey match, a Biathlon between Audi Q7 and Volvo XC90, and they rocketed a Mini Cooper off a ski jump. And watch Jeremy eat the "yellow snowball!" LOL! Talk about entertainment. =)

the Aygo is basically a Myvi built to cater european taste and needs ( for youths with no family attachments etc.) but i love the aygo for its fun sporty looks, unlike the too practical and a lil bit dull Myvi.

Myvi? nay, my friend, it’s Toyota’s version of Kancil! why i say so? it’s bcoz of all the cost cutting measures areeven worse than myvi and more like a kancil instead! but with ABS and Airbag? man, it’s something that our local carmakers can learn about!

The Toyota Aygo, Citroen C1 and the Peugeot 107 are the same car underneath but surprisingly the Citroen is the cheapest of the lot costing 500 pounds less if I'm not mistaken.

This car is remarkably agile and I think is very good value for money. It even has an Auxilary on the front dash to plug your Ipod into!
