I’m in the UK and luckily can get the model shown in the video. Or rather have got one…

I bought my 1.8 VTEC EX about 6 months ago (yes, the first in the region actually) and I have to say I love it.

Firstly I think it looks fantastic in black – which is the colour of mine. Why Honda decided to provide a red one for just about every review I’ve ever seen is beyond me.

However this car is fantastic. It looks a lot smaller than it actually is : you wouldn’t believe the amount of baggage and people I’ve fitted into it after picking up family from Heathrow Airport.

But on the road – wow ! The engine in the petrol version does need you to change into a low gear to get the best of it, but when you do it moves very nicely.

And I love the noise from the VTEC engine – it’s got this high pitched whine which sounds wonderful.

But when you come to a bend you realise where the strengths of this car lies : the handling is excellent, with tremendous grip and no understeer or oversteer to speak of.

For a 5 seater family car I would say that it includes practicality with a little excitement. It’s never going to be a Type-R, but it’s still fantastic to drive (especially at night with that Starship Enterprise dashboard). Call it a Type-R for young family men.

The ride in the press has been commented on as being hard. Yes it is, but considering the handling it’s a trade-off that I’m happy to make.

I would highly recommend it to anyone thinking of buying one.

i-dsi is concern more about fuel economy, as for V-tec, you will experience more power and the fuel economy is a little higher than the i-dsi. From the AutoCar ASEAN magazine, it is stated that if u have buy the lastest Honda Civic 2.0, the feeling of power of the car will be like 2.0L engine or higher, but the fuel consumption will be lower, as low as a 1.5L or 1.6L engine.

i’m planning to buy a new car, honda city idsi. but i heard idsi lack in power when driving in highway, it’s that true? what is the top speed of idsi compared to vtec? what is the best offer from town? anyone can help?

i got offer of discount RM400 with 2.71% interest rate last week, is this good offer?

i cant help bt to tink that it looks small , i dono if its in the pic or in real,bt doesnt look as big as the civic we hav here…and really do agree with the guy here , that othr manufactured sudenly hav to go back to the drawing board and redesign all the cars that thy hav , its like this civic started the future early , n cought othr makers by complete surprise…

although the of version civic here looks tamer, it actually has better spec. The Euro civic has beam axle for rear suspension, the civic here has multi-links.

Great, superb. Our Civic 2006 is a lot different than this. More features and top spec….Really envy those ppl in country with open car market.

You noe that due to G high tax, Car Makers are really very reluctant to bring in this kind of top range car, they only bring the least features or juz basic one to lower the original price. High original price will only jack up the eventual price which looks extremely expensive after stupid tax.
