BMW has been testing their new BMW 1-Series soft top cabriolet over at the Nurburgring track in Germany. The small cabriolet is based on the BMW CS1 Concept (picture above) shown back in 2002 at the Geneva Motor Show. The CS1 featured a 1.8 litre Valvetronic engine mated to an SMG gearbox. What differentiates this from it’s older brother the BMW 3-series convertible is the latter has a powered hard top while the 1-series cabriolet will be smaller and will have a normal canvas top. Technically, according to BMW’s naming scheme this should be called a 2-series, but it appears that BMW is leaning more towards calling it a 1-series cabriolet.

frm the vid saw the rear lamp is round shape…hhmm…still not prettyla…but better than the hatch version…
One for the ladies. I think it'll be called the 2 Series Convertible. Don't know but BMW shouldn't sway away from their already introduced numbering scheme. Maybe they're still reluctant to change. m4 does sound odd…don't u think/?
the butt look cute ~LoL
Great scott! Is this hideous or what?
really ugly design..the rear and the way the side skirting is incorporated into the door…real lights looks abit like the savvy!
Seems like yr 2007's BMW all got that kinda face design… Saw some pics of M3 that will be launched at 2007, its also quite similar face as this one…
hhmm..this one is another ugly dsg frm the beemer…
its still not the final design la guys. it doesnt show the actual design during test drive sessions. plastered with duct tape and everything, like the Satria replacement models seen on the road posted here much earlier.
in the vid, when it was showing the snapshots, at some point, it does look like an M series though. low and long…. sweet… if it comes with paddles shifters… lagi sweet~!!!
the looks are too ugly
It's butt-ugly.
having another view, i think is not tat bad overall… every cars are not perfect right? maybe just tat this car got a bit too many not perfect designs…
