UMW Toyota not confident of 100,000 car target

toyotalogo.gifUMW Toyota Motor is not optimistic about it’s previously set 100,000 cars a year target, saying it is now not within reach considering sales performance this year to date.

However, it intends to keep it’s 17% market share overall, and it’s 60% market share in the MPV market, and expected sales of 2,500 per month (30% of this to be the new 1.5 litre variant) for the new Avanza facelift will help it achieve that. Average sales per month for the Toyota Avanza last year was 3,000 a month.

At least they are thinking realistically. Well, if the new 1.5G Avanza is priced right, it could still be possible!

Yeap most agree but only at the right price.

Some already predicted another lower price revision next year.

If they can't achieved the target of 100,000 units/per, then how many percent had achieved? 60%

Maybe they notice that, ppl buying power has been dropped recently and not even effort to pay the down payment OR this is due to their over optimistic target.

Anyway, who cares about They Target?

People are not willing to buy car, since it is expensive, hard to get loan, purchasing power dropping, economy is bad..etc. Is price of the car is not reduce, the market will still be staging.

As of yesterday afternoon, good friend of mine, a toyota branch manager here would not release the pricing for the new Avanza 1.5G saying they still have not receive the pricing fr HQ…and today is the launching.

Anyone knows why they are so conservative about it ? Already said cannot make target, should launch sooner and release the news much-much earlier to the people mah…

Now only few months to X'mas then new year… a few more to Chinese New Year… how to make the production target la. Sure got lotsa orders cannot meet. If launch earlier then might just make the 100K bullseye… now…

Yea… me going to the showroom too. Saw one 1.5G yesterday when a salesman drove it for a spin, not bad from outside. Later guys….

I'm not suprised considering their really lousy after sales service even at their flagship Section 19 branch, 'tidak apa' attitude like nobody's business. Where have their japanese counterparts gone? Sent packing?

Serves greedy UMW right! They thnik they can reach some far fetched target by cheating fleecing and robbing bolehlah compliant people so much so they think they can do the same to tomyampeople…..

sorry tomyampeople got quality Toyotas at a fraction of our prices, UMW think they want to sell Hiace to tomyampeople without tariffs after our MITI imposed so many tariffs like NAP, ED, ST, AP on thai toyotas coming into bolehland…..

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

Aiya, motorhead, For small player like P1, small power window problem also can't solved. But for this croc thingy is a small problem for big player like Toyota. Just slaughter all thses big fat crocs and use the skin as leather seat for "Limited Edition come with Corcs Leather Seat" – sure ogt buyers one …… Ha, ha, ha, ha ….. pergi mampus cepat-cepat crocs…………
