The guys at All Japanese Performance in the US have pimped out this Honda Civic Si Coupe where it matters – the engine bay! The K20 engine in this Civic has been bolted on with a turbokit, and has been running without problems since March 2006.

In March, AJP was able to reach 306 horsepower at the wheels at 0.3 bar and as time progressed with the help of Hondata (ECU tuning), it was able to achieve 376 horsepower and 315Nm of torque at the wheels at 0.6 bars of boost – very impressive! Basically, this car was an R&D car for AJP to develop it’s production turbokit which currently goes for $4,299.99.

More specs, photos and videos after the jump.

lol sorry to say but the first comment above sounds very childish too. I never thought who's first to comment would be a big issue. Paul also doesn't have a counter stating who sees or reads the post first.

Thanks to Paul for the post. Keep up ur good job keeping us up to date with all those kinds of info on automotive industry. Later.

Yes… simply splendid! Honda Malaysia seriously should consider bringing in the Coupe to Malaysia… ok maybe not the above monster but sumthing midly souped up…

but then again its still a pretty niche model so will be a slow seller and many might prefer the Evo and WRXs to this, right?

Oh well, there's always grey importers and Naza ;-)

I believe HM will not and never will consider bringing in a coupe. Can you imagine HM bring in the USDM and the other countries bringing in JDM… vice versa. It will be a mess for the companies. I do think they have some policies of bringing in the different designs. Exceptional case in Mainland. Paul, could you comment on this?? I puzzled why Corolla is named differently in some countries. to suit the different target market??

ahhh… then why LV is the same all around the world? only Mango is different? Is it because of women? Are women decisive in making purchases in car? They only know how to spend in clothing… but not a car. When it comes to cars, MOST women do not know what is it.

y they like 2 used a fwd 2 compete in drag race. the best drag race car still rwd or awd. from the video, we can c wheel spin which atleast a second delay b4 the car launch. with that money spend should get better result in rwd or awd.

I'm not so sure about the guy who posted that he would change his EVO8 for that Civic seriously has an EVO8.

As impressive as it it, both cars are not even in the same class. Despite impressive numbers, 300hp is a little too much than the FWD chassis can handle. The thing is, any hp numbers are achievable as long as you have a fat wallet. But how well the whole package works together is the tricky part.

Honda is not bringing in the Coupe and Hatchback because of only one reason. CONSUMER Preferance. (same reason why we dont see more wagons) Most m'sians prefer a sedan. We are already using the North American Accord……

Those childish little kid love to be the 1st.. coz they're trained since they're baby.. to get 1st in class, 1st to finish their meals and etc etc.. I wonder if any of them wanna be the first 1 to try out the new jail facilities throughout BolehLand.

LoL… Anyway, back to topic.. I dun really like the back though.. :(

The US Civic-Si has a 197hp engine so my guess is it's the same engine as the Type-R. Those who think that dropping the AJP Turbo kit into the local Civic 2.0 can produce 306hp… well, keep on dreaming. Need more $$$ to upgrade the engine too.

376hp at the front wheels? This car wouldn't even be able to turn properly. Not sure if the FWD chassis can handle that sort of power in the long run.

One should also be wary of the engine internals when turbocharging an NA engine. Seeing as VTEC units run high compression ratios of 10 and above, it is very dangerous to turbocharge and may harm the engine in the long run.

The car has been running for almost a year on stock internals and compression. Proving that the K_series motor can handle the power as for drivability the car has not lost anything
