well...if they want it upclass then they need the a more powerful engine and more luxury.

mazda can do it with the mx5. and even managed to add a convertible hard top roof without much critism of ruining the core value of the mx5.

the s2000 needs to move forward.

I agree with you Deodarant, but maybe those people have yet the chance to sit in the back seat of a four seater coupe or roadster (and no, the CLS does not count as a coupe. Its is firstly a sedan)

Well I totally agree. My friend change his Altis to Latio Sport and regretting already.

Like driving golf course buggy. No excitement.

Am I the only one who doesn't think 4-seater convertibles are a good idea? Every single 4-seater convertible I've been in, the back seats are only good for 6-year olds, dogs, or shopping bags.

if its gonna have two more seats, its v-tec egine should get two more cylinders, with a total displacement of at least 2.5L and a proper fixed roof (coupe) only. power steering should be good old fashion hydraulic assisted not electric and none of that CVT stuff please( Honda makes some of the best manual trannies on the planet it seems).

topgunthang: Not everyone thinks like you. Some of us actually understand what the s2000 is all about. Although I agree a more powerful engine would be nice, i totally disagree about the noise. The Honda s2000 is all about spirited driving, thats why it never had that many luxury options in the first place. The engine was meant to rev loud, the same way its suspension was meant to be stiff.

And I'm quite sure the 350z has always been quite pricier. As with the Rx-8, it looks like crap and I'd pick the s2000 over it any day.

i think the s2k could do with a more powerful engine and more sound deadening material to push it upclass.

but then again coz its loud and no power down low means its cheaper to buy a second hand one once the owner gets fed up with its noisyness. almost same price as a new rx8 or new 350z. but then again, youd rather get a new 350z or rx8.

whoops, connection problem left the other part of my comment out. Anyway, I was saying to Jeffrey1977: Having said so, it wont be called s2010 just because it will be released around that time.

@cbljkkj: i couldnt have said it better myself.

@ckengyo: drifting isnt everything, its just a fad mostly among professional driver wannabes. The s2000 is famed for superior handling, and here you are saying it shud be involved in a sport all about losing control.

@Jeffrey1977: Urm, just so you know, the "2000" in s2000 is referring to the displacement. It wasnt referring to the year of release

i think the new s2000 should have a retractable hard top like new miata. should b target between slk & miata. cos the power & handling is over the 2 mention but not as luxury as slk. & try 2 promote the new car in D1. better yet a type r with retractable hard top.

Basically replacing the Honda S2000 may be a better idea but i think they should just create a new car alongside it instead of completely replacing it.

The champion formula for the S2000 is the raw power, lack of trims which gives it the ability to really handle like a sports car.

By adding additional trim and 2 extra seats, its going to ruin the fun factor and economy of the car. Basically more weight spoils the performance, handling etc. The S2000 is rumored to have a higher cornering speed than the NSX.

Either way if Honda are planning to replace it with a successor, they have a car standard they have to live up to and supercede.

Hmm... From the previous post, Nissan trying 2 build an SUV which can run like a sports car. Is Honda trying to counter that by making a sports car which can seat more people comfortably like an SUV? haha...
