2007 Perodua Myvi Special Edition (Myvi SE)

Perodua Myvi SE 1

UPDATE: Perodua has launched a facelifted Perodua Myvi SE 2008 on the 10th of October 2008. Check out full details, photos and prices via the linked text.

Perodua has released a new special edition variant of the hugely successful Perodua Myvi called the Perodua Myvi Special Edition, or the Perodua Myvi SE for short. These photos are courtesy of reader Rufus King who snapped them while he was sending his Perodua in for service.

Basically, it’s a Perodua Myvi fitted with the sporty bodykit that’s found on the Perodua Myvi Sports that was showed at the KLIMS last year, also the same one as the Toyota Passo TRD bodykit, and the Daihatsu Boon X4, without the hood scoop for the Boon X4’s intercooler of course.

I would think a hood scoop would look weird with the current curve of the Perodua Myvi SE‘s bonnet anyway. There’s also the odd position of the front number plate – it’s slightly to the left.

Headlamps and bonnet are the same, but we’re not here to see what’s the same as the standard issue Perodua Myvi, we want to know what’s changed! Here are the changes in point form for easy reading:

  • New front bumper with new foglamp design
  • New rear bumper
  • New rear spoiler
  • New side skirting
  • Optitron meter in blue
  • Twin 5-spoke alloy wheels
  • Chromed muffler tip
  • Leather seats (lovely!)
  • Silver trim for center console

Of course, being one of the top end models in the Myvi range, the Perodua Myvi SE has the high spec Myvi’s dual SRS airbags and ABS brakes. Not sure how much the price for this 2007 Perodua Myvi Special Edition, so I’ll be heading into the showrooms tomorrow to find out… this post will be updated with new info then.

For now, more photos after the jump!

hope to hear from u paul after u go to the showroom..

last saturday its still not shown in the showroom yet..

i hope the new price for the new myvi se wont jump too high though…

and do u think that the old myvi owners can use the bodykits? i mean,it shud be an addons rite? no mods shud be done i think..juz like plug n play…hehee~

noticed the exhaust's muffler? i think its cooler than the 'invisible' ordinary old myvi exhaust…

btw,i think all version of myvi shud have this bodykits tho..shud be standard..

    hehe..

i just heard about a sports edition of the myvi.. didn't guess it was gonna be called a special edition instead.. i'm hoping there are some performance upgrades installed stock, but knowing the auto manufacturers here, its probably only asthetic upgrades..

the front looks a little awkward.. reminds me of a kid making faces with the weird oversized air dam in the front

i dont think we'll see a performance upgrade from perodua yet..

latest is 1300cc..n maybe years to come b4 they come up wif a 1500cc engine/model..

even so,juz look at daihatsu boon X4..its only 1000cc but have 133hp…

good huh? got in 4WD versions also…damn nice!!

I love this kit. its much better than the aftermarket passot version.

Simply add 3k to any model and u get all of these + leather seats. Its a bargain man.! this will waste SAVY anytime. Who cares about low fuel consumptions LOL!!! :P I just LOVE THIS BABY!. Hope to be able to get this kit in the after market. or maybe Perodua can sell the kit to those always have Myvi d :)

Ooooh, leather seats! Now that's the bomb! Very nice looking kit as we all know, but would be way better if Perodua have changed the headlamps too, the curvy headlamps just don't go well with the boxy bodykit. The number plate is slightly to the right to provide better airflow to the left mounted radiator I think. Wow, I want one of these cars now! The car will look even cooler with white leather seats and white interior, but grey / black is cool too!

Front View of the car seem like designed by Ultraman. Disappointed, I really expected something outstanding bodykit design and little modification on front bonnet or headlamp and perodua logo (front). Planning to buy one, but will buy standard model.

Nice! maybe it looks a lil weird in white, but in black.

though i cant agree wit leather (it'd prolly be a cheap quality one and it gets hot in d sun!).. they shld've just put a nicer, black fabric seats, and make it cheaper too!

After looking at the photos for some time, no doubt the bodykit looks really nice, but I can't help feeling that the Myvi bonnet and headlamps looks quite "out of place" when coupled with the SE front bumper.

The Myvi bonnet is all curvy and so are the headlamps (teardrop shaped), both components doesn't really fit into the angular aggressiveness of the SE bumper.

The front looks a bit busy. And i think, the rear spoiler doesn't suit the car. It makes the car look more like the van from A-Team. Savvy R3 bodykit looks more authentic and a trillion times better.

Yes the rakyat may like it. Nice try, but then its just the shell. The spoilers won't work that much (or at all). Don't think it will force the car to the ground on high speeds. Fuel consumption is higher. Sports package, but I think will still loose to the Savvy. The suspensions are the same (not mention here. Is it the same Paul?). What is the reason of placing the plate number holder on the left side? Want to tiru Evo. Lol, nice, but when you think of it carefully, its more of a joke.

if thats so,than its so cool!! but i dont think i have the time to run around searching for aftermarket parts…and even so i think all of it will cost just about the same price rm3k…

    n bro..do look at boon x4 1st…

its exactly d same kits except for the headlamps n front hood..(even same rims!)

    – at least by the looks of it…dunno bout the quality though..haha~

maybe proton have other models like satrias/wira etc…but never heard bout the much talkabout lotus handling of savvy in rally races…

and if talking bout FC..1200cc and 1300cc men…plus savvy have smaller bodies…of course FC of savvy is much more jimat…

do i know wat am i talkin bout..haha

Is this Special Edition has a limit of production ? For example, 1000 units only ?

Previously I heard Myvi has plan for a "Sport Edition" which looks like the one in KLMS (orange color). So now it looks like they cancelled the plan.

Well i think that Myvi 1.5L cant make though this year.. Coz what i learn that UMW (UMW own Perodua 30+% share) still have it's Toyota Yaris stock. If they come out 1.5L Myvi, itz Yaris stock will even worst… Unless they sell all the 1.5L Yaris, make come the new 1.8L Yaris. Then Myvi 1.5L will come out.

What i heard that Myvi sedan is coming out, romours are either 1.3L or 1.6L DVVT. And the pricing i even heard for full spec is RM68,888. Hmm.. is this really a dream?

If Myvi 1.5L are more expensive the the now model more then RM8-10K, with rear disk, adjustable absorbers and LSD or 4X4 mode. Making it under RM60k, i think a lot of sport enthusiasm will buy it. And i will be one in the booking list for manual LSD. Even better if the Daihatsu boon X4 can be turn into Myvi X4 turbo.. Even sweeter…

Pretty Cool design, though still looks a bit bland – at least from my perspective.

Preferably if it's fitted with a 1.5L engine. Rumours has it that Perodua might launch a 1.5 version later on.

    Cheers!

IF at all the rumours are true, then Perodua's got themselves another hot product to sell. However, for the 1.5L version to sell, the list of accessories and add-ons needs to be extemely inviting.

Apart from the powerplant, all-round disc brakes would definitely appeal to the buying public. Coupled with 15" – or even 16" tyres and rims, and it'll be a surefire product.

erm…nothing to shout about. Just some add-ons here n there. The interior still looks the same. The exterior lagi the same old myvi, especially the front part. The only thing that is good about myvi is its' rear design, kinda sporty (the sports edition lah). This make over is like myvi is pretending something it isnt meant to be, read – to look sporty, i think the front part gave it away, looks too feminine, but i like the butt though…

looks very sporty, UNTIl it gets wallop by the ugly looking SAvvy.

I love MyVi because the owners will try and try to show their driving skill, but the car simply sucks and they will understeer at the earliest possible moment. Acceleration is slightly quicker than a limped hippo while straight-line stability is as good as a tricycle.

The only good thing about MyVi is it is big. Cheap? RM50k plus and u get a 1.3L engine?

    What the F!

Need some advice here. Will be buying the MYVI SE (Auto) special edition soon. Just wondering whether the front number plate can be modified to be in the center? If so, can you recommend any accessory shop that can do it well? Thanks.
