BMW 1-Series Coupe Spyshot

1_coupe_shot1eft.jpgThe BMW 1-Series 5-door hatch and recently unveiled 3-door hatch will soon be joined by a 2-door coupe sibling, as seen in these spyshots. It will make it’s debut together with the US introduction of the 1-Series, which will be in coupe and 6-cylinder form. I’m guessing the more high powered models like the 130i and a possible upcoming 135i/135ti powered by the amazing 306hp N54 3.0 litre twin turbo.

There’ll also be a convertible model of the 1-Series based on the coupe body-shape, which is viewed by some to be a production version of the BMW CS1 Concept. A video of the 1-Series Cabriolet going around the Nurburgring track has been recorded. View it by clicking the link in the related posts below.

The 1 series should have started out being a 2 door fastback or coupe. In its current form the back doors are pointless because only midgets can get comfortable in there.

Maybe they should shorten the rear overhang and make a notchback, would be interesting, I've always wondered how BMW notchbacks would look like, with the already short front overhangs; then you'll have the wheels at extreme ends of the car.

kei9, the 130i, 1 series with a 3.0 litre engine, making 265hp has been recognised by the worlds press as one of the best driving cars in a long time…

bmw has always had class leading weight distribution, a fantastic chassic, great vehicle dynamics… if anyone can fit a 3.0litre engine into this car, bmw can do it.
