AFTA must come sooner rather than the later.

or else, I’ll never own any of these..

drM, sorry to burst your bubble of porsche dreams man.. but AFTA doesnt cover cars imported from europe. Even if it did, a porsche still isn’t going to be cheap.

Realistically the only one that i can ever aim to own and do really want to own in Malaysia is a Boxster. A S please.

996 C4S in 2nd hand form perhaps? Just love that fruity, bubly exhaust note.

Current 997 C S is good enough. With PASM and sport chronos pack please……no i am not going to time my standing starts.

i think it’s at least cheaper than lambo and ferrari. is it? last i heard the cheapest lambo and ferrari are going for about 1.7m, 1,8m. yeah, the AFTA doesn’t cover CBU from anywhere outside ASEAN. sad.

Still the current prices are cheaper than before. So for those who can afford it it’s a bargain. Those who can’t commnt on forums.. hahah

The Carrera was listed at RM1 million before and the Cayman S was RM770k.

Anyway Porsche are meant for rich ppl who loves it, always. but here in uk, u can get a used unit for around 25k pounds for some model… but its still consider expensive here…

for a regular american, USD 40k for a car is not “cheap”. its still expensive. If 40K Us is cheap for a car, everyone would be driving a boxter S.

  24. LittleFire85 said,

    March 28, 2007 @ 10:58 am

Too expensive for me.. But i heard the Euro is coming to Malaysia to discuss about the FTA, just like US coming to Malaysia a few months ago.. hope is will lowered the Europe car’s price a bit in Malaysia

  25. hondadriver said,

    March 28, 2007 @ 11:10 am

i think the point i’m trying to get at is.. lets not kid ourselves, its still a porsche we’re talking about.. even if you had your WTO, or our FTA’s..etc.. its still going to be quite a hefty purchase.

If this thread were talking about peuqeot pricing, or renault pricing, or at a stretch, bmw pricing, the possibilities are still more realistic should an FTA or WTO come into affect.

  26. transformer said,

    March 28, 2007 @ 11:48 am

even after FTA, WTO or NAP abolished…. still an average joe wouldn’t have the guts to purchase a Porsche! financially not strong enough unless strike a Million dollar lottery but in average, people would buy house first then car, maybe a Accord/Camry/CRV/Estima and at most a Merc/BMW.
But a Porsche is rare! not easy to buy, and its even harder to maintain… the bills… (though its cheaper compared to a Ferarri)

So after FTA, WTO or NAP abolished then hopefully rakyat can get better cars in terms of quality and safety at a “reasonable” pricing… but not at this moment, for Rm50K you still have to open door to pay tolls or the brake pedal would poke your XXX when there a frontal impact!

I love the soon-to-be-launched new 4-door Porsche Panamera GT. When will I ever be able to get a chance to test drive it around town for a day or two? It’d be the best work ever for a nice change. Maybe I’m dreaming as I write.. :-)

Well, i wanted a boxster when i’m in Australia last time and it’s priced around A$110,000. Now after come back to M’sia and worked for 7 years, i still wants to get a boxster. If it’s around half mil then it’s quite reasonable already. For me, Porsche or BMW, they’re really well built and tough!
