Alfa Romeo 159 tuned by Novitec

Alfa Romeo 159 Novitec

Novitec tunes up the Alfa Romeo 159, but strangely it is not the petrol version that is tweaked by the diesel! The 2.4 litre 20 valve turbodiesel has it’s power upped from 200 horses to 229 horses via Novitec’s Powerrail III system and a Novitec stainless steel twin tailpipe exhaust system. As for the bodykit, you get Novitec front skirting, side skirts, and a Novitec rear spoiler. The suspension system is a Novitec stainless steel sports suspension system that is height and hardness adjustable. The Novitec 159 rides on Novitec N9 multi-piece 20 inch wheels wrapped with Pirelli 255/30/R20 tyres.

This is not the most powerful 159 in the range – a stock 3.2 V6 petrol variant makes a very nice 240bhp. Alfa Romeo’s trademark has always been some of the best sounding inline-4 and V6 engines around, and it is not easy to get an inline-4 to sound nice. I wonder how a diesel Alfa engine sounds like.

BTW, anyone notice how the latest Mitsubishi Lancer reminds you so much of this car? But then again, it could be just me. *shrugs*

    That's one mean looking machine.

Loved the front and rear souped-up design.

They were not wrong when they say Alfas are sexy and alluring.

    She truly is ONE.

    Cheers!

Present 156 2.0 Selespeed carries an OTR, without insurance, price of RM 210,650.00

The 156 GTA price tag is RM 351,650.00.

    Under Milan Auto, the 156 2.0 used to cost 172K, the 2.5 v6 192K and GTA 330K.

Sime Darby sure make a healthy profit :)

It's hard to hate that looks, as well as hard to love it either.

Side profile looks so ugly? Yuck.

    belissimo

yea the front overhang is bad, but its does increase the taut and strong forward stance line appeal.

the rear wing makes it look lancer concept.

but remember these lights have been around for almost a decade since the 146 to the 156, so like usual, the japanese are copying.

is there any better looking four door out there?

    i think not.

alfa's are down and out of the game already. only thing keeping them barely above water is the fact that its italian, rymes with alpha and use to make some nice cars back then.

brera better not buy….its an aussie made v6 in it. slow and thirsty and unreliable. only good thing it does is keep the alfa's price down. too bad it also drags the resale price down as well.

regarding the top gear comaparison….i'd have to say the mazda rx8 looks better and needless to say handles better.

Really reminds me of the new generation Mitsubishi Lancer. Front and rear!!

The front headlamps are narrow and mean-looking – similar to Lancer's.

    Same goes to the rear.

This car.. nothing interests me except the huge wheel-arch at the rear to house the big tyres.
