Nissan GT-R Spy Video

![]()
This is the best spy video of Nissan’s upcoming spiritual successor to the Skyline GT-R yet. The Nissan GT-R in this video was captured doing some really intensive high speed laps at the Nurburgring track, and is seen tailed by a Porsche 911, which means Nissan’s power and handling performance targets should be similiar to the 911 as a competitor. Check out the video after the jump.

Not bad actually. Such a nice car on the public road must have caught a lot of attention.

it looks like video shooting rather than spy shooting…

Nurburgring track is a public road kah?
April 22, 2007 @ 10:01 am
3.6L V6 twin turbo engine.. Wow… Nurburgring track is track laa.. use to test car and also racing..
April 22, 2007 @ 11:01 am
The car following it is a 997 Turbo right? lap time for the turbo at the ‘ring is around 7.50 it think, so if the nissan can match that, i’ll be a very fast car

After they tested the GTR, they went to the public road. I should say this car seems a little bit wobbly.
April 22, 2007 @ 11:45 am
Very nice indeed!

Correct me if I’m wrong. But from the sound of it, it runs on automatic gearbox. Perhaps the CVT. Or perhaps, Nissan also uses the flappy paddle shift gearbox? It did sound like one when it drop the gear towards the end of the video. I think this one won’t disappoint the fans. =)

Wobbly? Obviously never tried driving on the Nurburgring before. The elevation and bumps on the Nurburgring are some of the most challenging in the world. 20.8km of real world road combined to one single track.
I would have to say that the GT-R’s suspension absorbed the bumps and impacts on the track pretty well in comparison to other car videos I have seen in the past which includes other super-cars and predecessors of the GT-R.

I think you’re right, it does not sound like a manual at all but more like an semi-automatic or semi-manual like the SMG transmission. For an auto box like shift, it shifted pretty quickly. I’m impressed. More vids, more!

TOO LATE…. IT WON’T DO MUCH.
April 22, 2007 @ 6:28 pm

April 22, 2007 @ 8:49 pm

April 22, 2007 @ 10:55 pm
Even super car get stuck in traffic jam. LOL
April 22, 2007 @ 11:11 pm
How about super cars still need 4 wheels and fuel to move their vehicle…LOL
-.-

Sounds nice! Hope the front will look similar to the R34 and retain some of it’s design elements.
April 23, 2007 @ 12:28 am
Based on my knowledge, Nissan said at the last time they officially released information was that the car was 90% completed in terms of styling.
Design cues from the R34 GT-R have been incorporated to the all new GT-R. The most prominent cues would be the rear tail lights which bear the closest resemblance to the 34 in comparison to the rest of the previous GT-Rs as well as the higher belt line in the rear.
I don’t mind the back, however the front leaves much to be desired. Lets hope they surprise us in 2008 when the launching of the car is destined =)

I don’t think the front of the GT-R Proto (top pic) is less desirable… The headlight cluster design is very nice. It’s the 21st century, the new GT-R needs a 21st century look.

I think it looks suitably GTR but with a modern touch.
Hope it gets more than the reported 450bhp. The 997 911 Turbo boasts 490bhp and also has a very trick AWD system, not to mention a very trick turbo. The GTR isn’t going to beat the 911 in terms of status so it needs to be better in terms of performance. So the drivetrain and the chassis of this GTR will need to be bespoked to lure potential buyers apart from the fan boys.

VERY COOL INDEED!
this would give those european makes a good run for their monies…
they’ll have to make way when those pair of sharp front light appear on their rear view mirror…

As usual you can always expect surprises from the Nissan engineering team. From the video, it looks more like somewhat a cross between the G35 and the legendary R34. Every corner seems to be like of a luxury car type handling (not that i’m expert at this but i think its rather obvious) but acceleration i’ll bet is kick ass.
With all the high techs involved (again) in this new GTR, i’ll bet the would be price is a wallet busting, probably Mercedes luxury level price.Too bad I’m no sultan’s son or Bill Gates heir. SIGH*.
Can’t wait to hear what those UK’s critics gonna say about this GTR.

Very nice. Hmm, Nurburgring is kinda bumpy at certain corners, no?
How come I don’t get the see the 911 during most part of the lap – Only at the beginning of the video.
And I think it was more like a publicity shooting than spy video – the camera man was everywhere (or maybe there were few of them). On the track (various locations), on the road, etc…

seem like too much power.. cornering not too nice. Maybe stablility problem.
the tail light is totally not cool. Miss the skyline light.
