Toyota Hilux Sport Concept

Toyota has prepared this special Toyota Hilux Sport Concept for display at the 2007 Commercial Vehicle Show in the UK. It’s powered by a 3.0 liter D-4D turbodiesel equipped with a Toyota Motorsport upgrade which boosts power from 169 horsepower to 200 horsepower. The pick-up truck is further “blinged” with 22 inch wheels, a sporty-design truck top, chrome-finished grille and B-pillars, tinted windows and lights and a special-design front guard.

Pretty smart-looking pickup, but I hope they do realise that F1 and pickups are worlds apart

Hahahahahahaha!!! 22″ wheels on leaf springs? Hahahahahahaha!!! I would love to see someone here try it.
April 24, 2007 @ 9:18 am
i’ve already seen a of local hi-lux running around on 20″+ rims in KL/PJ

What’s with the coupe-ish roofline? Trying to be Caldina on steroids huh. Well, 22″ on leaf springs, that’s gonna bounce, gives you that offroad feel, even in urban environment, that’s what Sport Concept is all about! Can you feel the sportiness yet?

Doesn’t look any special to me. I don’t see a point in putting those wheels for an offroad truck like that? It looks ugly and the ride would be crap with that. Still prefer Toyota Australia Hilux TRD Concept.

big truck with low profile tyres just look funny tho..
April 24, 2007 @ 1:18 pm
cannot imagine how harsh the ride comfort will be.
April 24, 2007 @ 1:20 pm
hmm… but our jpj will go mad when they see this tinted glasses…
April 24, 2007 @ 1:26 pm
looks aweful as long as its not lowered…
April 24, 2007 @ 1:32 pm
That’s one dangerous flipper. I’d not advise a boyracer to come near one…
April 24, 2007 @ 2:12 pm
another company sad trial trying to ride on their F1 partnership..
haih…
April 24, 2007 @ 2:13 pm
this is one helluva pickup! like the coupish bedcover. tinted glass? theres nothing wrong with it right? donno why jpj wanna put a ban on it.clueless.
April 24, 2007 @ 2:26 pm
There’s nothing special about the pick-up truck..The accessories can be bought from any 4×4 accessories shop..With low profile tyres, the truck will definately spin when driving in rainy conditions..I have experienced it 3 times using normal tyres..Low profiles tyres even worse…!22 inches wheels with leafspring, imagine the consequences..?
April 24, 2007 @ 2:33 pm
it look nice…..but 1st must lower down abit……coz look too high……the rim feel like can be a bit bigger…..look nicer if side skirt is on……wil jpj allow this????
April 24, 2007 @ 2:33 pm
Its not really a JPJ law, just that they are the enforcers of it. The tinting law goes back to the old days of the emergency mentality. at that time, with a dangerous communist insurgency that lasted over 20 years, the idea was that dangerous individuals cannot hide behind tinted glass, which made the job for the police a lot easier. Another law that has survived from the emergency days till today is the ISA.

not about visibility? i do agree part of this tinting enforcement is about legacy law, but i have seen my fair share of ‘uber tinter’ when they drive around at night they can only see headlight of oncoming vehicle only. this dangerous situation is reason enough to this regulation.

looks cool.. btw,in kuching i can c many hilux wit 22″ rim with lower suspension..
April 24, 2007 @ 7:09 pm
the only engine to go with the look is the overseas Hilux 4.0 with rwd
April 24, 2007 @ 7:59 pm
don’t see any sportness in it. Even though the back roof is a new design, if you look at the whole back section looks detached from the front and middle part
April 24, 2007 @ 10:36 pm
one word. ugly
April 24, 2007 @ 11:02 pm
sure its fits as TMNT motor! DAMN UGLY!
April 26, 2007 @ 3:39 am
the ultra-rich middle east folks wud definitely love this
April 30, 2007 @ 10:12 pm
i like the 3.0 liters engines…nice to play in offroad..
