Looks almost the same except the indicator lights and the rear spoiler and vents. One thing is buy a porche today, 50 years later still looks the same. LOL

hondadriver,

I'm one of those lucky enough to know a 996 GT2 driver that drives his car on track. I say lucky coz he once let me have a go. Only for few laps but it left a lasting impresion with 480bhp powering the rear wheels while being cocooned in a Bucket seat and strapped in a four point harness, and a track oriented suspension set up working the sticky Michelin tires...

Culprit,

The latest GT3 997 comes with pretty well equipped to cope on the road. and much more rewarding to drive than a overweight behemoth like the M6.

you will be surprised how many malaysian GT2's and GT3's you can see at Track day's in sepang. These owners drive their cars to the max, and not just poodle around the circuit at slow speeds.

one of the reasons of being RWD, these 2 cars save plenty of weight over the turbo's AWD.

if GT2 uses AWD then no point in making GT2 already, same like Turbo.. hehe.. GT3 and GT2 are focused driver's car, so allows the driver to have more control of the car itself, instead of depending on the security of a 4wd setup...

kira can "play" around better la, especially around the tracks... I'd say GT3 and GT2 are pretty pointless cars in Malaysia, if your a freakin millionaire and getting a 911, ur better off with a Turbo or even a Carrera 4S, or an M5, or M6, or maybe an Aston, or Viva.. hehe, kidding!

I'm a little unclear as to why the GT2 and GT3 use rear-wheel drive instead of AWD like the Turbo. Can anyone explain?

Wah... If i can hold my hands on the steering and drive it.. Well got 2 options, either i am a rich man or a porches technition/engineer.. Even a test drive is hard to get in Malaysia coz most model are directly imported on demand... Haiz.. when i can have that one on my parking lot.. Really cool GT2..
