Porsche Panamera Spy Video

Porsche Panamera Spy Video

Here’s a video of a few Porsche Panameras on test – more than four minutes long. The Porsche Panamera is Porsche’s competitor in the four-door sedan and GT crossover segment. It will go head to head against the likes of the Aston Martin Rapide, which is another beautiful and sleek car by itself. Video after jump.

Beauty? The sloping rear bonnet which blends with the rear windscreen makes it looks like a hatch, not a coupe. A hatch with a long wheelbase & low roofline?

Its far more uglier compared to the Aston Martin Rapide, Merc CLS, Audi A7 or the BMW CS concept (answering Capt Shopalot post). Just my preference, others may have different opinion.

Not even close to the Rapide.

Porsche has proven that thier cars dont need to look good to sell well. The badge carries enough weight.

The range is complete now. The Cayenne for Mom to do the school and soccer runs, the Panamera for a night out with clients, the baby Caymen for Junior to trash a cheap porsche around, the GT3 to trash around on the track, and the Carrera GT to finish up the home museum….

I'm sure thats what the big wigs at Porsche thinks……

4g63t, u r probably right. the cayenne proves that they don't really need fantastic looks to sell. their tech and performance is enough to shift loads around the globe. even so, in malaysia, the cayenne is super popular. those who want one have to wait a few months to get theirs.

as for the panamera's shape, i guess it has sth to do with the average porsche buyer's age. and that is around 45 to 50? those would probably need the space to take their golf bags and family luggage on holidays and the reason for the long roofline is quite simple. headroom. in cars like the cls, rapide or the concept cs, the shape of the rear does not allow for much headroom. not so nice if the ceo owner wants to be chauffer driven. i suppose the designers shaped the car to be driven as well as to be driven in. imho that is. :)

may not look as good as the rapide, but i'm sure the panamera will drive miles better. look at how much better a 911 is over the the v8 or db9.

    I dunno but I like these designs… -> http://www.bmwpower.lv/members/gt99/1928e8a1.jpg

probably they're not practical… considering the headroom for the rear passengers.

So almost everyone has a 4 door 'sports coupe' now, except Ferarri and Lambo. It all started with the Mercedes CLS.

sometimes I wonder those so-called "spy shots" are actually some shots that the brand owner wants to show to public to get publicity ? :)

anyway, good to see Porsche with 4-doors sedan. Wider market segment I guess..

i doubt if panamera or rapide eaily beaten by the straight cut 3 box car, the M5,

so this is a mere glamour for film star, or million dollar sports man ride with friend / kids,

-fashion statement to have the odd one

    i think,

Doesn't look so ugly anymore to me now, but I still think it's the ugliest one from the lot of 4 door coupes.

It's a 5-door car. The entire rear windscreen opens together with the trunk.

    Hmm, nice spy videos.

motherker, the window shape is fake!. its used to disguise the real shape which i guess should mimic the rear window shape of the 911.
