Wow! Paul, you don't know what idea you've just gave me by posting this video. LOL! Gee...I wonder if I could persuade my uncle to give me his GSX-R and dump the engine into my Kelisa. CC wise still within the rule of JPJ right? Just need to make the correct mounting I guess.... Hmmm....yummy!

bcos the engine is from Suzuki GSX1300R sportsbike which is also called Hayabusa. It has a 1299 cc inline-4 engine rated 175 bhp (129 kW).

Where's the intercooler piping?

I think it is normally aspirated....

i said the car now has a turbo, but not sure if these videos were recorded before or after.

the tuner's site:

"We are currently testing a Mk1 Golf converted to rear wheel drive running a turbocharged 350bhp, 1300cc motorbike engine from the Suzuki Hayabusa (car pictured above). Testing has gone very well and knowing how well these engines perform once boosted we knew that the car was going to be a bit of a handfull!"

As I know, Golfs are FWD or 4WD on some models. I'm surprised that Mk I is still being manufactured in South Africa. Then again, they only stopped the Mexico's classic Beetle line in 2003. Amazing considering that production ran for 69 years!

There should be some 4 door Mk I running around... ideal for a transplant project like this. I'm really curious how much this yummy engine costs...

Wonder what sort of gearbox its using. Typically, bike motors dont have differentials in the gearbox (so it wont be FWD_unless he has locked it), so he must have somehow converted it to run shaft drive to a conventional car rear end.
