Anyway. Let me explain my stand. No I’m not a Myvi fanboy and I don’t drive a Myvi. Neither am I comparing the Swift with the Myvi. Hell, they belong in different price brackets. I haven’t a clue why you think I’m comparing.

The idea is, if you have “about 40-50k” to spend on a “new car” in “Malaysia”, the Myvi offers the best proposition for a “majority of consumers”, especially those buying their first ever car or second/third extra car. Which explains why it “sells so well”. And that is what you call “bang-for-buck”. You may disagree if you like.

If you have “more to spend” and you are “willing to spend more”, obviously you could go for the Swift (in the 70-80k bracket) or whichever model takes your fancy. Obviously, being that much more expensive it should be a better car than a Myvi but that doesn’t mean it is a better deal.

Personally, I like the Swift and would choose it ahead of its direct rivals. I would like it even more if it came with a manual gearbox.

As our BMW (BanyakMasukWorkshop ah, not Bavaria Motor Work) said, we are live in free country after all, the price offer by MyVi is not the price in free makret and it is not they want to sell in our market, but imposed by NAP.

The moment Mitsubishi 1.6L sold at around RM 40K, MyVi can be sold at perhaps less than RM 25K. However, do lawn mower Savvy can be sell at RM 30K? So, the conviction is MyVi is still selling like hot cake and the SAWI DIE LORRRR!
