The interior should be dark color to suit local taste & condition. Tan Chong need to do market research on this matter & do not accept 100% ideas from Japan. For it to be successfull & killer MPV of the year, it prices should be less RM85k. I am sure those driving Honda, Toyota & Naza will jump into the bandwagon of Livina.....

bobdbilder, with a monocoque chassis, you immediately reduce the centre of gravity because everything is mounted so much lower.. because the avanza and innova sit on top of a truck type chassis, thats the main reason why they 'ride so tall'.

and yes, an MPV can never achieve the driveability of a regular car, but a regular car can't carry 7 people relatively comfortably can it?

Well, Renault have great diesel engines.. is that the quality of diesel in Malaysia make it worst.. If our malaysia diesel is at least Euro3/4 now, sure i choose it.. Diesel engine have been proven to have great torque to help move around.. Just a lot of people still think diesel is dirty and low quality engines.. Well time to change! DIESEL (DIGI) ! lol!

agree with bobdbilder..

i don't believe one bit ETCM gonna price this competitive enuff. they never will. pricing issue is like nissan forte. their glory days are long gone...

latio either sedan or hatchback not gonna boom much.. still very hard to find one on the road. as an alternative to honda or toyota, yes.. competitor.. no.

beside, consumer still not having enuff of the wait-and-see attitude (i.e. withholding purchase of new car). i guess the recently released vehicle sales report verify this doldrum. and i bet its gonna continue until raya time .. consumer better wait for discount and stuff.

what create all this? NAP introduced by the goverment of Malaysia that emphasized and glorified things that is not what the rakyat of Malaysia want and hoped for..

in basic terms, this is what happen when you don't give what your customer (i.e. rakyat) want. Its all about CUSTOMER SATISFACTION.

On a people mover, chasis rigidity is not sooo much of an issue. Its the bloody high centre of gravity that every corner makes an adventure in balancing. The suspension setup is for full load. When you're driving alone, it gets really scary when there's a huge weight shift taking the bends. Its just bloody awful. Nothing can prepare you if you've used to driving proper cars. How come there's no mention of torque and where its available? Coz that's what you need in an MPV, bucket loads of torque. You can only have it at some 2.0l engines but the mpgs on those things sucks. Therefore an engine below 150bhp will suck too. So why not a diesel? Coz Japs don't make good ones and we think diesel stinks. Neverending circle.

The main reason I'll choose the livina over the avanza and innova is because the toyotas are still based on a "truck style chassis"(partly explains toyotas competitive costings). A monocoque chassis is far superior in every way for passenger comfort and safety and of course, more expensive to develop.

We need practicality over everything aesthetic. Beige maybe appropriate for luxury car as they normally use by the tawkeh. Even Audi with beige interior look very bad not after one or two year but the test car.

ETCM can never beat toyota in pricing, in my opinion in terms of cost per value it will still tough to beat avanza or innova. I did check out the indo website (http://www.nissan.co.id/vehicles/vehicles.php?pg=2&id=14&sp=1) and found that many parts are sell separately as accessories. As for basic model it does look dull and far worst then innova.

Well of course, what you pay is what you gonna get...in this case if everything add up, I would say it may cost even higher then innova G.

Altough Geniss is a seven seater but the third row is quite cramped according to taiwan and china car magazine... But it is still better than the Avanza

Sounds like a drink name Livita :)

Anyway, looks good la. Try 1.8, should be quite powerful. Let's guess the price around RM89K.

Was lookin for an MPV and thought of waiting for this Livina, but opted for the trajet since its the cheapest full size minivan around. (got it at a discounted price)......

Yep, i do belive the latio is too overpriced compared to its actual class competitor (city/vios)....TCM thought by bringing the 1.6 & 1.8 can compete wtin civic/altis segment????....

I really wanna buy it. However, I wish the interior would be black. I have two kids and sometimes travel for holiday with my parents. My korean car leather seats serve me well but the car is too small and very much inconvenient for long journey. I didnt buy Innova because of its beige / creamy color interior. And I didnt buy Wish because it is expensive. Hopefully this Livina is dark color inside otherwise I can just keep waiting until my kids are big enough.

I wonder why they like to make it creamy colored. Stupid designer. Konon2 luxurious. My friend's Altis looks very bad with ice cream and chocolate mark all over the place. And he got only one kid.

Livina....
Even last time the news also said will be below 100K that a great competitive with Avanza and Innova.
Now also to their own Latio.
7 seater MPV VS Sporty Latio or Sedan Latio.
Same engine.... so which is the best choice????
Before i get my Latio Sport i also consider about this as i know will be below 100K. 7 seater....good for travelling. But the worry is, is a MPV, is heavy, need more power. Can the engine support it? If cannot then will need a lot of power to boost it. Then FC will be higher.

Anywhere consumer get the benefit. More choice.
Ya Latio is still hard to be seen OTR. I think really the pricing issue.

I don't think the pricing will be competitive. Read yesterday the star. Nissan emphasizes on 'add-on features'. Till now it's hard to see Latio on the road. I think it is about the price right.
