Steering vibrate can be solve by doing balancing and alignment… My sis persona also facing the same problem coz did not do balancing and alignment for 15 000 km…!

If braking vibates, maybe the disc sudah bengkok… my kancil also face the same problem and the mechanic at perodua service center told me the reason…

fuel consumption… do not drive above 120 km/h at highway then you will get 100 km for just RM 10 (1.85/liter)…

Hi everyone,

I am planning to get a new car. Still considering between Persona and Kia Spectra. Due to a recent promotion, for a Spectra 2002 model, 2009 car, you can get it by almost 10K cheaper than Persona. Based on my research, the only main issue with Spectra is the FC. Can you guys give me a hint on the FC for Persona so that I can make a comparison

Dear kien….

no worries about ur financial dude (i make the calculation between 1.3 and 1.6 cars,with huge body of it)….

its ok to buy a car in performance 1.6's (persona) compare to 1.3's (saga blm) car…

although it cause u more than 5k extra interest, but for others side of maintenance its quiet save dowh,example fuel and etc,compare to 1.3 cars….

more higher the performance,more saving u can get…i bet the saving from other part will cover the extra interest that u have to pay, PLUS u will earn more than 5k saving in others part of 1.6 car's for the 9years onward….

hopefully my consultation can give u a hand kien….

i think o.166 cents perkm is pretty acceptable for a1.6cc car as for the other problems, well, claim warrantyla. they gave u 5 years warranty so claim kaw kaw friend

Oh God… after a long time having think that persona is a good buy.. i beg to differ. Now 6 months and a mileage of 18k. i am mega dissapointed in it. Firstly…Steering vibrates at 110km'/h. i have send in 3 times for retification. Breaking sux big time and virates also. i think it might effected the steering.

Secondly..IAFM got malfuction has a unit replaced.

Third. Power window(drivers side) making knocking noise when operation up and down.

Fourth..aircond diffuser making noise. i think the blower is making that wistle noise.

Fifth..Sterring make 'tud' noise when cornering. Those guys told me that the aircond pipe is hitting the body. They covered it and it was reduced only.. the noise is still there.

Sixth. high fuel consumption. YES! Very high… RM30- 180. that is driven at crusing speed. 90-110km/p. I tried not to hit more than 3000 rpm.

Finally…Endless Visits to SS!.. like 5 times just to fix things up in the car…

Between saga and persona…

Of course the saga is more cheaper than persona price, but sometime i asking myself, how about the performance between saga and persona…

Then, can saga maintain its performance for 5 years….

Proton Persona.. i saw a video on youtube that 1 guy from gombak drive Persona Auto for speeding at mountain road or what they called taugeh and he calim their name as Touge-g. Acquired a manual base-line Persona and had travelled to Kuala Kangsar to familiarise myself with the car. It worked perfectly. The engine was smooth with no hassle transmission. The car was effortlessly able to overtake many vehicles without much strain to the accelerator. The Persona passed with flying colours. The second trip was to Kuantan from Ipoh. The Persona did not fail to impress. It glided through proudly on all situations – rain or shine. I am now a proud owner of a Persona.

i just booked a Persona M-Line Auto at a 10% down payment with a 9 year 3.75% loan…..

was pondering betw a new M-Line saga and this persona….

now after calculations….i figured that i'm losing abt rm14k+ for interest to the bank in the case of persona and abt rm9k+ for saga!

I'm just a single guy earning rm2.5k a month staying with parents….now abt to pay this rm545 monthly….how can i save up for a house?…please console me people…or i should change my order to saga instead? thanks..

The Proton Persona exterior and interior looks wonderful for a Malaysian design car. However I am here to critique about the Pricing and the Quality of Proton. Proton, by comparison is similiar to KIA, Hyudai and other korean car makes( where the company motive is to earn money rather than to create a distintive reputation of the car, for example: Volvo= safety).. So Malaysian has been brain wash( especially those that are not highlky educated) that Proton is a cheap car for the Malaysian to own. For god sake, the cheapest proton car is the saga which is 31k and the normal mid range Persona is 50k.. Imagine a basic fresh graduate salary is about RM 3000 and u really need a car. So u take a loan then and of course u will charge with interest ( Unless ur rich u can pay outright.. I bet someone who has that money would but that car). So if u choose 50k persona and with the interest, you end up paying around 55k( depends on the plan u choose). In all western nations, basically most people would also earn the same as malaysia. HOWEVER, the car pricing there is different. For 50k u can get A MERCEDES BENZ BRAND NEW… So Fuck u Proton for bullying us. About the quality, U know is always down to drain. My dad own a proton iswara for 14 years now and he says is a good car than any other car. But in my heart, i can tell that he doesn't like the car at all- is because we can't afford overseas make is because the stupid gov impose high tax on these cars. AND Again i would like to say fuck u to the man behind the proton ( not our former PM). The one that manage proton..

And thats why i study and plan to mirgate to Australia now have good life.

This new CPS is 4-gear auto or 5-gear? 55k is quite cheap but still got space for improvements for the audio part, wiring like what paul mentioned, gear knob(Lol!)… And esp the rear seats, dam ugly cover…

do a fuel consumption test manually. fill till the petrol filler thing 'clicks'. zero your odometer. and drive normally without thinking about saving fuel as you usually drive and calculate from there.

that type of fuel consumption is for about 220kw engine. computer calculated consumption isnt accurate. 1.8 litre civic engine takes about 7.1litre/100km on an auto so base your figure around that. 7-8.5litre/100km is acceptable.

Hi all,

I bought a one yr old Persona recently (2007 model, 2008 registered). I find the fuel consumption is very high. The Average Fuel Consumption (AFC) shows 11.3L/100km. It's rather high isn't it? The car has travelled 17,000km & has been serviced by Proton Service Centre by previous owner. Any suggestion on what can I do to improve the fuel consumption?

Hello people…

I bought a Persona 1.6 H two weeks ago in South Africa. It’s a great car to drive, but I’ve noticed that the Ave Fuel Consumption computer is not even close to accurate (typically shows a much lower consumption than I’m actually getting), and that the fuel tank does NOT seem to be 50L like everyone claims. I’ve filled up twice now after driving with the reserve light on for a while, and both times the tank didn’t even take 40L to refill…?? Can anyone verify the REAL fuel tank capacity?

Another annoying thing is that the knob of the manual gearshift turns so that the numbers face any direction and cannot be tightened. Any idea’s?
