Citroen C-Airscape Concept to debut at Frankfurt

Citroen will be showing it’s new Citroen C-Airscape concept car at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show next month, which will give us a preview of how the next generation Citroen C5 will look like, even though the C-Airscape will be presented in cabriolet form. This might hint to us the possibility of a future coupe-convertible Citroen C5 and perhaps a drop top version of it’s mechanical twin later – the Peugeot 407.

Chassis, engine, gearbox and many other will be shared with the Peugeot 407, and the interior will be typically futuristic funky Citroen – a wide, sporty yet elegant dashboard incorporating two LCD-screens – one in the centre-console and one behind the steering wheel in place of a traditional meter panel. It will also come with the latest version of Citroen’s Hydractive suspension.

Citroen out of ideas? Front lights BMW 5 series. Back lights also BMW. Why people so obsessed making headlights with one kind of sepet at the top?

Umm, the rearside looks like a mesh between bmw 5 series and the local camry.
The front is totally citroen, unmistakable. But god, I have to admit, i hate the headlamps, they look so weird, also the same as current c5.

This is all PSA’s design. It doesn’t look like BMW at all!
This car look great! But i still prefer the 407.
Hope that the new C5 will be a great car and beat the Mondeo, Passat and Laguna!

However nice a Citroen could be, technological advanced, etc… as long as we’re still living in Msia, I seriously doubt it’ll come in or when it finally got it perhaps it’ll be asking you to pay over your nose for the car.

And a few years down the road, perhaps with a couple of thousands discount, you can get yourself a “good deal”. The “good deal” means a car that is manufactured say a few years back — old stock lar!

I walked in late last year with my heart and cheque pinned on a C4. But walked off without saying bye as the only available stocks are dated back to mid-2004, with an “impressive” RM8,000 discount (“impressive” quote by the sales manager).

Hmm, the design seems to have slanted towards the Peugeot side a bit this time, perhaps the designers are confused, having to work on unidentical twins all the time, but it’s still obviously Citroen; that nice grille, elegant body, mean looking head with smooth flowing lines all over. That foglamps unique! Very nice, but that’s all expected from the French. Hope a droptop coupe version does make it to production this time, Citroen has always been lacking in this segment while it’s Peugeot twins are flourishing (think 406 coupe, 206cc, 207cc, 307cc, 308cc, 407 Macarena etc etc)
