To the general public, the cars/SUV/Trucks they produce and sell are reffered to as "Mercs" or "Benz" , never "Daimler" It was established since 1926 as Daimler Benz AG, they should have returned to the original name It's like The Porsche/Piech family renaming Porsche AG to Piech AG, when all their products are called Porsches... .
