The new Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X will be used as a course car for the Japanese leg of the FIA World Rally Championship to be held in Tokachi, Hokkaido from the 26th to 28th October 2007.
A course car – also referred to as Double Zero or Zero cars – travel through the course before competing vehicles to make sure track conditions are okay and everything is ready. The Double Zero car departs 30 minutes before the race starts, and the Zero car departs 15 minutes before the race starts.
This rally-equipped Lancer Evolution X will be modified with an integrated rollcage and various other reinforcements which result in the strength and stiffness of the car being drastically upgraded from the normal road-going version. It will also have a Ralliart-developed constant-mesh close-ratio gearbox, a sump-guard, floor guard with fuel tank protection and mud flaps.
Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
Some Ralliart parts are already making it a better car!!! More please!
fugly looking car man!
is that a typo in the heading? pretty sure you meant “as” instead of “at”. =D
Back to the topic, if that is the course car in the pic then it looks.. wow. I dunno, maybe its the roof scoop that makes it look that much better than a stock evo. Haha
Can’t wait to order one.
i prefer dat it goes wif bigger grey colour alloys.
grey alloys? rally cars usually only have white alloys. anyways.. no evo has been given prizes for beaty.. Ever! i suppose it does all its talking with its performance.

Alloys size differs depending on tracks surfaces. The colour…OZ normally has white for rallys. This evo has not proven its performance yet, so don’t be too sure, drivers also play vital roles.
the skill of a driver, i think can be left for another discussion, we’re after all talking about the car. regardless of drivers, an evo has always been a good basis for a rally car. i’m just stating the long heritage these cars have as good rally cars, and i’m pretty sure they’re not going to screw it up this time.
this X looks had smaller wheels than others ??
seems quite tiny!
rally cars generally look like this, with this kind of wheels
What is that roof scoop there for? Looks like creating more drag
the roof scoop is there to cool the interior – rally cars have no air conditioning
this car is setup for what they call “gravel spec”. Higher ride height, large mud flaps. It is also running gravel tyres, and due to the higher sidewalls, the rims have to be smaller to maintain the same wheel diameter. The higher ride height also gives the illusion that the wheels seem smaller.
if you look properly, the car also has a fullblown rollcage inside.
This car is probably built up to GrpN or world production car spec.
BanyakMasukWorkshop, you sure know your stuff..bravo! How do you reckoned the Persona, can it be transform into a rally car?
