New Skoda Superb

The latest 2009 Skoda Superb carries Skoda’s most recent design language and will be unveiled at the 2008 Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland on the 6th of March 2008. Earlier this year selected car journalists were presented the opportunity to drive a variant of the new Skoda Superb featuring a 1.8 liter TSI engine putting out 160 horsepower.

This will be the second generation flagship Skoda – the first generation Superb was based on a long wheelbase Volkswagen Passat. Many were talking about Proton using the first gen “stretched Passat” Skoda Superb as a base for the Proton Perdana Replacement Model.

The first gen Superb is on sale here in Malaysia for RM181,068.40 OTR without insurance for the 1.8 liter turbo model, and RM259,022.50 OTR without insurance for the 2.8 liter V6 model.

Hei, this is not the same category wif Persona. Do u get a 1.8T or a V6 engine in Persona?

Anyway for a Passat category, this is cheap for the 1.8T. Maybe it is import from czech so cheaper?

There are already many discussion on this model in paultan’s forum. And yes it doesn’t have attractive look. But i reserve my comment until i see the full detail after geneva motor show.

This model uses stretched platform of the latest passat model, with wider and longer body. The current generation of skoda superb is already very spacious, and i believe this one will be huge.

FYI, the designer of WV Phaeton is the man behind this project. Already there was a test drive report on the prototype by autocar UK recently in US and it left them a very good impression. Lets wait and see…

    By a proud skoda owner.
