The latest car spotted at JPJ Putrajaya is the Volkswagen Eos, essentially a two-door convertible version of the Volkswagen Golf Mk5.
No indicative launch date so far, but it’s interesting to note that the Volkswagen Eos was so popular in Canada that Volkswagen Canada decided to cancel its introductory campaign because it did not make any financial sense to go ahead with it anymore.
Even before any form of advertising was put up, the Volkswagen Eos had begun to disappear from dealer lots around the country. All of the 2007s stock had nearly sold out from pure word of mouth alone.

i think i saw a vw eos 2 month ago at a vw showroom at KL
VW Eos is indeed a hot coupe cabrio!..but I think its gonna be pricey and also be brought in by those grey importers..any news on local VW dealer launching it here?
This is an official VW Malaysia import. The sales personnel have been placing ads in the classified the past couple of weeks already.

It’s a Volkswagen! Financial sense?? Absolutely no way… they sell because there is a soft demand and these people can pay without comparing.
Having said that, unless I’m dirt rich… I’ll compare the price with BMW 320. It’ll at least cost that much, in my prediction
but I might be wrong as I don’t think it’ll cost anything below RM130k.
Anyway, even at RM150+k, would Camry sounds more financial sense? Or, the coming new Accord at about the same price band too.
coolguru, i think camry cannot be compared with both 3 series and this vw. but in financial sense, yup camry should be a wiser choice
people who buy these cars usually have another 2 or 3 in the garage,one of which will be a full size car so a camry or accord would not make any sense to them.but for most people is you are buying a family car then definitely camry/accord will be a good choice

We maybe ‘wiser’ than most of the Conti buyers, BUT they’re more successful and money is not their constraint like us? RM150k? Even Polo already approaching that price bracket, brother.
Charger – the EOS won’t be cheap when it starts selling here. Yes, I am complaining about just offering the FSI. It should be the TFSI or even the newer 1.4 TSI that replaces the 2.0 FSI.

The last thing we need is to open the roof to blistering hot sun/rain. And you also get two less seats (or miniature seats in this case)

What model are they making in Jakarta? Obviously its meant for our kind of market; cheap but reliable.
Its just sad that what is known as the European version of Toyota is too expensive for us. Where almost every car you seen on German roads is a VW/Skoda/Audi, its only the higher income bracket can afford a Polo. Even though it has been ages in the Chinese/Shanghai market with the Santana 3000 as taxis, it has barely made a dent here. Not even with a Skoda.
My hope is that some sense will come to these people and see regular peeps as part of their target market. They will make money out of selling the mid range stuff for sure. But that is not growing the brand. That is not winning the hearts and mind of the market. Too bad.

The Red colored “i” in “FSI” means its Turbocharged, meaning its TFSI. Check out the Passat “FSI”

Oh and the 1.4 (T)FSI does not replace the 2.0 (T)FSI. You cannot put it in an A4 or an S4. Because…you just can’t and you shouldn’t. Its a bit too harsh. And I’ll cry if they do.
