And there is one malay guy in my college who is under the honda scholarship who barely can speak english and his academic achievement is just moderate level..

i doubt how did he write an essay and with what qualification he was awarded the scholarship…?

why dont you go do your own research and find out rather than talking off your head? im not defending proton or anything, i just like commenting and presenting a balanced view.. the facts are, proton does have a pretty impressive CSR programme thats been running for many years now which even surprised me.

A company’s CSR programme is not just about scholarships, its about the community as well. For reasons only known to you, you only seem hell bent on posting something negative.

Most scholars are binded with their sponsor, and some are very ridiculous that it made me question the motion of giving scholarship. Being robbed off their time freedom, it is no wonder many, especially overseas scholars would choose to work there and pay back the money. There’s also many other factors like perhaps better salary and all, but I’m just highlighting another rarely known factor for scholars to not return here. I’m sure the scholars wouldn’t have mind coming back to serve the country for 4, 5 years, but 10, 12 years is just utterly ridiculous.

This Honda Dreams Fund scholarship puts the original intention of helping the less fortunate to achieve their dream back in place, without robbing off the most precious asset from an individual: time. Well done Honda, Soichiro-sama would be proud to see the company he founded still holds on to his principles.

How about Toyota? Or Perodua?

Come on, Proton has to take care of their own back too. As the saying goes, “you can’t help the others if you can’t help yourself first.” If all also wanna give to scholarship, mati la proton…

If want Proton to give more, then they have to be stronger first, which is what they’re doing right now, by expanding their overseas market. For now, I’d say, it’s noble of them to be able to sideline some of their profit to the community. Though, I hope they don’t put ridiculous conditions to their scholars…

You have been most helping opening up my eyes. But then, is proton really all out helping the rakyat? I mean, if proton makes a couple hundred of million bucks, how much have they forked out for scholarships, as the name of National Car Maker? Are there some statistic that I can refer to?
