Proton has setup weekend drive-in service bays for the recent Proton Savvy wheel hub inspection recall exercise at four of it’s service outlets.

Opening times for these service bays are from 8am to 6pm on Saturdays and Sundays. These service bays have been set up specially for the recall and customers can bring their cars for inspection at these outlets even if they have not made a prior appointment.

  • Proton Edar Centre of Service Excellent, Subang Jaya
  • Proton Edar Plentong Service Centre, Johor Bharu
  • Proton Edar Juru Service Centre, Seberang Prai
  • Proton Edar Kuantan Service Centre, Pahang

Inspection will take approximately 20 minutes, but will possibly take longer if replacement of parts are required.

Proton has also taken up an ad in major newspapers regarding the recall with a list of all service centres – a high resolution scan of the ad is available after the jump, completely with addresses of the 4 service centers above.

bring to SS227, was in the workshop almost whole day ONLY for Inspection!!!!!!!!!

    Disagree with this statement

“Inspection will take approximately 20 minutes, but will possibly take longer if replacement of parts are required.”

Paul Tan says: That’s very bad… I’ll point out your comment to Proton.

By admitting our error, and try to correct it we get a more respect. Does our leader learn from this? Don’t pointing finger.

hmm.. i thought they would replace it with better/new wheel hub design for all savvy.. why need inspection & replace if necessary only?

they said “…we discovered a possibility for water to enter the rear wheel bearings under SPECIFIC CONDITIONS. While this MAY OR MAY NOT cause problems in the long run, we decided to recall all Savvys to be INSPECTED & REPAIRED, as a PRECAUTIONARY measure….”

my opinion, if there’s a doubtfull parts so why not just replace it, doesn’t matters if the inspection shows nothing wrong with your savvy wheel hub(so far).. what if it happen after all this… i remember the “MAY OR MAY NOT cause problems” thing but we should be prepared for the worse, right? afterall they did said “We take this matter to heart”.. so show us u mean it..

I have to admit, Proton needs to take one step further of telling customers that after replacement of wheel bearings will cause rear brakes to sound! Not that we want to criticise Proton, but whatever necessary aftermaths to happen must be informed. Also, after job inspection is compulsory. If not, it’ll happen like one of the customer, after her spindle replacement, the whole wheel came off the drive shaft when she drove home! Anyway, back to brakes sound. This is due to brake disc & piston non-alignment, therefore the only way is to use your brakes often until it re-adjusts itself again. That’s all.

Jalan 227 sucks, the people there work unprofessionally, unlike the one in Section 13.
