Gud for the taxi driver, nxt GE….ensure no coalition get 2/3 majority (BN or BR), let those politician knows who’s the boss & always on their toes instead of just seamrolling the passing of any acts….

Yes..this is much more better than making ’stoopid ‘ purpose taxi….

But make sure you have plenty of officers to random check the taxi driver, cause then problems of “ali baba” will happen again..

A good suggestion if it is well coordinated and implemented. I know that some taxi companies are taking advantage of the drivers and this move might help individual drivers who love to drive and work harder than the rest.

On the other hand this sector may not be well coordinated and not uniformed. The driver can wear whatever they want, dont have proper training and some new regulations might not come to them soon enough (to mention a few).

I hope the allocation of permits for individual is sufficient enough as the battle for permits has always won by corporations.

It’s good when BN lost 2/3 majority. Though long overdue but it’s better than never.

Perhaps we can see T Prius Hybrid as taxi, ideal for town use if not new Alphard Hybrid.

i sincerely welcome this move cos, i know what is it like to be driving a rented taxi and having to pay RM48 bucks perday for many years.

pls stop the monopoly of taxi permits esp company’s like supercab, uptown ace, konsortium, etc. i know this one man who has 1,500 taxi permits.

its just not fair to everyone.

erhm….if this goes through..who is going to stop any of us from getting a taxi permit?

Buy a nice car for cheap (tax free), then pay the annual fee?

Something don’t sound right here. They can’t really stop a taxi driver for not wanting to pick up customers…..

Very nice idea of individual taxi permits, but the quality of service will not be streamlined. Also who is going to manage the cabs? Are they just going to be rougue cabs like you find in Shah Alam? Cabs who do not want to use the meter even though compulsory.

This shud have been done many donkey years ago… Why shud permits awarded to companies to make `atas angin’ money? The price of the taxi is cheap, (tax free).. and yet this drivers need to pay an upfront fees and RM 45-55 (this rate is for the usual iswara taxis, for other makes, they have to pay more) a day for 5 years to these companies..

Stop all the monopolies, quotas… AP as well………………..
