As of now, the next generation XC90 has yet to be announced. Apparently Volvo is having troubles developing 'green' powertrains (i.e. hybrids) to suit the american market. Americans, aside from their gas-guzzling pickup/truck loving culture, has been demanding more and more fuel efficient cars, especially from premium brands such as Volvo.

Taking into account that this facelift was launched way back in mid 2006 (Volvo Malaysia really took their time in launching the facelift, as always), the XC90 will most probably be getting a second facelift in about a year from now to keep it fresh until the next generation car arrives (if at all).

Hehehe the new tail lamps are cute... i liked the old round ones in the pre-facelift model, but this one makes it in line with the rest of the upcoming range :)

I always see Volvo as the safest car in the world. So this new face lift edition would be the same as the old one, tough! Just that they come in the diesel version. Like wise, diesel here would not last long until the price raises again. But hey!, if u can pay that amount to buy this car, would that little raise of diesel or petrol kill? I don’t think so.

Diesel will be introduced later as an option ler....

Safety but not much? Compared to any other European brands, it is a super bargain, and it's extremely super duper comfortable.

I'd prefer the XC70 thou, or the A6 Allroad Quattro ....
