i understand ur problem man…many of us here facing the same situation,blame the system..not certain people…atleast Tun have done good thing for us…but this guy has upset the system beyond its means of turning it back to make it better…he has lost control…and the system which not a burden so long has became a barier for development and all…

and we are given stupid reason plus they are not admiting their mistake…

they say they wanna use the money they saved for development…but what kinda development??and the problem is…no matter what development they do…how is it going to help the low and middle income people??

lets say…we start from basic…loans for small business…for low and middle income people…when prices of fuel and goods are so high…profit margin reduces unless u have more than a business…otherwise interest and low repayment will take a big chunk out of ur earning…so its feasible…

second..construction industry..same goes here…smaller sub contractor have to bear all the cost of rising price..their profit margins will be low and they surely cant sustain a good income…and futher expand their businesses..so the larger and richer contractor will take over..which make the rich get richer and poor poorer…

same goes to every other industry…

then comes to public transport,education,salary and etc

education system never been great and year after year its been free falling into the lowest standard currently..even indonesia has better education system…a country which has more than 5 times the population of our country

quato,merit and all those system does not only cause racial tension but leave out the deserving and capable students which is very important to drive the nation in future being drained out of the country…when we are taught to be proud to be malaysian..why there is merit and those kinda system??its not really helping the poor…we are already malaysian and 50 years has gone..why must there be a system which is not looking beyond the skin colour and only based on real quality of students and between poor or rich?

but the govenment over look on certain things especially in developing nation or people of malaysia to get ready to live in the real world…. but sadly most of our people are not ready….by hoping all those 18 essential goods must be control and highly subsidies by the G even if the price are now become very2 high in the world.

So as to ensure the price are kept lower, G have to pay directly in cash to those big-big company…such as cement factories, steel, or even foreign oil company… not to mention also on the product such as flour, chicken, cooking oil and many other things that have to be subsidies by the G ….and worst part IPP. In my opinion we are doing nothing good for our children as Malaysian people will become less competitive….

I agreed with the govt action to restructured our subsidy as to ensure that the subsidy goes to the right eligible people….hoping that during the budget 2009 govt will announce more good things for the people of malaysia.

First of all, I would disagree if anyone were to ask me whether it was a waste of time spending three months completing my service stint. However, I do not think that I have greatly benefited from the programme either.

It is a matter of opportunity cost. The programme was not superb. Hence, I would probably have gained more if I had spent the three months studying or working. In spite of that, I am glad that I was selected because it provided me a chance to unravel the jigsaw of pluralism in Malaysia’s society and to voice out my personal views regarding the programme.

This programme has succeeded in attaining some of the objectives, namely developing positive values, volunteerism and gaining confidence among the teenagers. However, it has failed to achieve its main objective – to instil patriotism and promote racial unity.

It is a frail attempt to inculcate these virtues in a short period of three months. I would not deny that to some, it may have succeeded, but to most of us, it has failed.

I am a living example here. It is a total fabrication if I were to say that I am a more patriotic person after completing my service. Frankly, I am still the same old person who loves my country. Furthermore, I was saddened because inter-racial friendship merely existed superficially for most of the trainees.

Most of the trainees were inclined to mix with their own race. True inter-racial ties which were built during the training is a rarity compared to friendship among people of same races.

For year 2008, only 110,000 out of 484,909 were selected for the programme. Does it imply that for every year, only 20% of our teenagers are required to foster patriotism and racial unity? I am totally bewildered.

I think that the government should consider revamping the education system instead if they are seriously committed in sowing the seeds of unity.

The trainees are at least 18 years old and I think that it is a bit too late to change their mindset. If they only had friends of their same race for the past 18 years, would you think they would foster close friendship with people of other races abruptly?

Regarding the compelling issues of healthcare and death in training camps, I think that most parties have neglected the most important cause – peer pressure. Teenagers nowadays have very high self-esteem and are very image conscious. This causes them to hide their health problems until it has become severe.

They are living in a large community there. So, it is a social imperative for them to endure every illness in order to prevent themselves from being regarded as trouble-risers and ostracised by their peers.

The health problem is further hastened by poor nutrition in the camp. The problem is the failure of relevant parties to ensure that the caterers’ compliance with the health and nutrition requirements.

For those camps plagued with the plight of food poisoning, I think that it could be eradicated if the trainers were made to have the same meal together with the trainees, as what my camp was practising. This is to prevent the caterers from being negligent on the hygiene of the food.

Spot-checks should also be conducted frequently. Specific guidelines about types of food that should be served must be established to ensure that trainees are provided with adequate nutrition and balanced diet.

I would also like to call for a review to reallocate the time slot for physical activities. I am wondering why the government is ignorant on this issue. Even a kindergarten boy can tell that it is totally illogical for physical activities to be conducted in the afternoon because of the tropical climate.

Maximum temperature could reach up to 35°C during dry spells. This certainly puts the trainees at higher risk. The problem is further escalated with the inclusion of water-borne activities which increase the exposure of trainees to conditions which spread diseases easily.

Finally, I seriously hope that the government would review the firearms training. I think that it is only a gimmick to please teenagers such as me. It merely provides few minutes’ surge of adrenalin at the cost of hard-earned taxpayer’s money.

I think the money could be allocated elsewhere in a more constructive way such as better accommodation or facilities. Besides, it leads to violent behaviour as it unintentionally gives teenagers a subliminal impression that conflicts could be solved by violence, if necessary.

We are living in the 21st century now and I think that it is always more important to educate teenagers that the main priority to solve conflicts is always by solving it peacefully.

again simple…first lay out a good foundation…(we didnt need that since we had liquid gold) he promoted malaysia to the world..building icons…showing that we are a nation ready for growth..look at us….(same as saudi,china and many growing country now..why saudi is building their own icon now??why china having olimypics now?and building the tallest tower in da world??to turn investors attention…when a rich man ask where is the best hotel in da world situated..you burj dubai…7 star hotel…and he goes there…he likes the place…he say..ok lets buy a villa here…and he buys one..so he has investested in the country…formula 1 is not a poor man’s sport…many rich ppl come here and sum invest here…and rest contribute by spending millions…profit for certain hotels in malaysia went up by 120 % after formula 1 was held here…so its helping the tourism industry…not like sending sum1 to da moon…and when u meet sum1 the 1st impression counts…that the reason money was spent on KLIA..and many other projects….no1 is 100% successful…but when you fail once..u must know how to bounce back…thats Tun DRM..a great man….unlike PAK LAH…the Greatest loser….

UAE RM1.19, Bahrain RM0.87, Egypt RM1.03, Qatar RM0.68, Kuwait RM0.67, Saudi RM0.38, Iran RM0.35, Nigeria RM0.32 Venezeula RM0.16.
Saudi Arabia is the biggest producer of Crude Petroleum Oil. Its citizen does not pay Income Tax except a minimum amount of Zakat. Does not have import food duties & tax. It does tax foreign imported cars. Free local calls and Free TOLL on all Roads.
What about Brunei. No income Tax. Free Education till Tertiary Education ie. PHD. Free health care and free medical bills for maternity/delivery. Free TOLL on all Roads.
