Alpina buys the cars from bmw, rebuilds them, and resells them with a new alpina chassis number, and the cars are also registered as an alpina. but alpina has such an interesting relationship with bmw, that the cars are still warranteed by bmw. Alpina cosmetic parts are also sold only to alpina owners. technically, its not from bmw, but from alpina.
