C’mon, this is not an AMG for Christ sake! It’s just an E280 with AMG package….. So it must not be compared to M5 or the like!! Maybe a 528i with M-Sport package…

People still regard Merc as more prestigious than the BMW because of its long history (founder of the automobile) and its many accolades in safety and triumphs in motorsports. BMW doesnt come anywhere near. Its a fact that has gone into people's minds. Btw, I own both BMW and Merc and I know which one to drive if I were going to a gala event. Definately the Merc!

Merz vs BMW is all depend on what you want. Comfort or the ultimate driving machine? I think when it came to sport sedan, 325i is one of the top choice. Even the old E46 325 will still triumph in term of pick up.

Sorry that i hurt some merc’s fan but i have to say that this is a car for “apek”. Regardless any sport spoiler or sport tune suspension made in it. Not to say it is slow or it’s only meant for uncle, but this is a typical executive car. Try imagine putting in a spoiler in 5-series than putting in an E-class, it just doesn’t have the sports look in it.

I hate the E class.
Not because its not good. But because its as common as a street dog.
Watching old blokes driving them isn’t too interesting either.
Wait for the new model (W212). Its out soon.

the AMG stuff really works, now this is even better than the usual E200K….

5-series vs. E-class? well, to be fair the 5-series looks awesome too, but Merc got more “class” and feels better anytime anywhere…..

and they rise from a fully dipped position when you turn the car on – it’s nice touches like this that make you feel like you’re in a car packed full of technology.

OLD E39 already has this.

I would choose E60 5 anytime. Or Audi A6

Superb quality photo shots! This car sure looks better and feels better than BMW 5 series. The AMG rims are an eye-catcher @@.
