Honda OSM Concept

Honda’s 2-seater sports car design study called the Honda Open Study Model Concept (OSM Concept) has been unveiled at the 2008 British International Motor Show in London.

The Honda OSM Concept pitches the idea of a lightweight front-wheel drive roadster that is both stylish and environmentally friendly. The theme for the OSM is “Clean and Dynamic” and it was designed at Honda’s European R&D Facility in Offenbach, Germany.

On the interior you have the double deck dashboard with a rev meter on the bottom deck and vital information displayed in digital format on the top deck, similiar to the 2006 Honda Civic. The dash curves to the right and downwards in the left hand drive layout, providing a cockpit-like environment.

A smart looking car indeed. Very clean and simple lines yet has a very striking effect to the car. The slanted headlights make it very aggressive and the interior echoes S2000 in the way it revolves around the driver.

The front looks like an evolution of S2000, the back looks very much like Alfa spiders and the overall shape Lotus Elan. Wouldn’t mind it looking like Elan as the principle of light weight sports car bodes very well.

Anyway, I think it would be a good idea if Honda were to use this concept for the next generation S2000. S3000 anyone?

Please please please let it just be another concept car. It looks too sissy to replace the S2K.

looks to be same class as a Peugeot 206 or 307. FWD config, probably a small capacity 4pot.

if you go to Auto Express’s website, and look under the report of the British Motor Show, you’ll find stills and a video of the actual car – which looks better than the CGI of the car. DWtv also highlighted it in their ‘drive it’ programme.

Btw- the report highlights that CRX replacement has been confirmed and will be going into production.

It’s nice except the rear I’m kinda dislike. Still, it would be nice to replace the S2000 except the post stated that it’s a FWD. So, it’s unlikely to replace the S2000. Then again, it’s a OSM…of coz Honda want to get as many feed back before they take it to the next level. Good job Honda!

I love the front of this car, I am a fan of convertibles as I own a new MX-5, but love what Honda did with the S2000. I think though to sell well it will nedd a rethink of that back view, hideous! Remonds me of that Granada which looked American, you know the one.
If the make the rear end prittier it would sell, ohh yes and make it in Rear Wheel drive, otherwise Honda you’ll lose out to Mazda, Porsche and Audi.
