topgunthang said,

August 28, 2008 @ 10:41 pm

seen them on the road. 135i and 125i look good. though not as good as the 3 series coupe versions in 335i or 325i form. actually a good buy the 135i. buy that or an evo x. i think my money goes to the beemer no doubt

hatch is still ugly as ever.

the 135i may not be as fast as the evo, but its engine sounds nicer

they have a 4 door sedan too for the 1 series as was seen in some spy pictures some time back. wonder when they will release it. definitely more practical here and if priced well, the 4 door could do what the first 4 door e30 did for bmw. and that was to open up a whole new segment (the young married couple (perhaps with very young kids) looking for an 'affordable' entry into a premium brand or perhaps a single who has to worry about what the parents say about 2 door cars!) for bmw.

i like the 1-series coupe better than the hatch (imho) - maybe it is the proportions that are quite close to the original 2002. but i think that the 1 series should be an entry level car to be priced way below the 3. bmw seems to be confused as to what the real purpose of this car is. they should use this to get more 'new' customers into the bmw brand. by this, they should be looking at a younger demographic. and in getting a younger demographic, they should offer it in 116 and 118 guise with the top being 120 to suit the financial capabilities of the target market. the 135 is definitely overkill and built for 45 - 50 somethings who have cash to splash. the 2 diesel models won't work here either with our hopeless diesel quality.

i think its a good ad. its plays on peoples desires.. bmw sells more 2 door coupes in the US than anywhere else in the world. they know that their target market are there, and many of them do desire, or aspire to own something like this 1 series coupe.

and kerelbort , you make it sound like everyone has to give a bad comment, why is that so? i think its good, so i give a good comment la ;)

doesn't make me want to be behind the wheel..
the animation is so 2000-ish.. I did not feel 2008 at all.

there's not enough content in this TVC, the tag line is quite strong.. but the storyline is a bore.

but the badge is BMW, not much bad comment about the TVC by the commenter in here, onli the price tag comment is seen and it is quite high even without all the tax and such for a car at this size.
