bro, you can say whatever you like, but benchmarking also means to compare, maybe you should properly read all the definitions first before you comment.. and your comment “This is what PROTON should be benchmarking, not body kits and facelift.” maybe i’m wrong, but i’m reading your comment as “this is what proton should be doing(coming up with new engines), rather than do body kits and facelift.” you are in fact making a comparison with what nissan and renault has done and what proton has been doing.

besides that, my point has nothing to do with grammar, or english. so you’re missing the whole point of my comment.

torque allows driveability and quick acceleration, HP allows high top speed.

This is what PROTON should be benchmarking, not body kits and facelift.

2 giant companies like renault and nissan, who have been working together since the year 2000, and they finally have an engine like this ready for 2009, and you expect the same thing from tiny proton? its just not a fair comparison.

The problem is, its unlikely we will see any of these in our current lineup of nissans as turbo charge powerplants are inherently more expensive. More expensive powerplant = more taxes = more expensive cars.

Its not like the down sized engine is going to make a big dent on road tax savings and fuel consumption, that is if you intend to boot it all the time….it will still consume the equivalent of a 2.0L of petrol on full tilt…..

You better ask that from Toyota first, they use their old engine for all car.
-Yup, I second you. In-fact those toyol-ta are using Yamaha engine…
