Mercedes-Benz C250 CDI BlueEfficiency Prime Edition

Mercedes-Benz will be selling a 5,000 unit run of the Mercedes-Benz C250 CDI BlueEfficiency called the “Prime Edition”, featuring the recently unveiled OM651 four cylinder turbodiesel engine.

The C250 CDI slots between the four cylinder C220 CDI and the C320 CDI, producing 204 horsepower and 500Nm of torque thanks to its twin turbochargers, figures that are rather close to the V6 turbodiesel-powered C320 CDI’s 224hp and 510Nm of torque.

Despite being close to the C320 CDI in peak output, the smaller displacement of 2143cc, more advanced turbocharging techniques and other various technical enhancements allow the C250 CDI’s OM651 to achieve a combined fuel consumption of just 5.2 liters per 100km on the NEDC cycle.

This third BlueEfficiency model in the W204 family (the other two are the C180K BlueEfficiency and the C200 CDI BlueEfficiency) features various fuel-saving designs like a smooth underbody cladding, low rolling resistance tyres, an adaptive energy saving power steering pump, and a optimal gearshift indicator on the instrument panel.

The special Prime Edition limited run can be ordered in obsidian black, palladium silver or iridium silver. There is also a special diamond white metallic paint available as a special order.

Have a look at the related links for more technical details on what has changed with the BlueEfficiency C-Class models as well as more information on the new 2143cc turbodiesel, or look after the jump for photos and a video of the C250 CDI.

lol why think about the elysion when this is a merc thread? anyways, this car would not be offered in malaysia, being a) our lousy diesel b) mercedes-benz malaysia never brought in the c220cdi c) a cbu unit of the blue-efficiency would probably cost 300k and above, its probably as good as a honda civic hybrid, but at cbu price

Look at the newly design wing mirror indicator light…. Quite unusual but soon others will come out with more creative design for their indicator lights.

Damn…the c200k with a 1796cc engine uses double the fuel (roughly 10.5L/100km) of the more powerful c250.

i think the blueefficiency engine is the first of its kind, able to accept urea as a form of fuel. its been mentioned a while ago, if ur an avid reader of paultan’s blog.

also, alpina bmw, its not a more expensive honda city, honda city are b-segment cars. it should be compared to a honda civic, a c-segment car. if u want to compare the honda city to an equilavent mercedes car, try the b-class. i assume ur a bmw fanboy, possibly thats why your ignorant towards mercedes-benz’s lineup. also to note, mercedes benz c-class is considered a luxury sedan, compared to honda city, a sub-compact sedan. please get your facts right.
