Peugeot Prologue Concept at Paris 2008

Peugeot will be displaying the Peugeot Prologue Concept on its home turf at the 2008 Paris Motor Show. It pretty much looks like a conventional 5-door hatchback although it appears to be higher and larger than the likes of the Peugeot 308.

It seems that Peugeot will be releasing a production MPV called the Peugeot 3008 built on the 308 platform soon and the Prologue previews the 3008’s styling cues. It doesn’t look like it will sit 7 or even 6 so this may be a 5-seater MPV in the style of the Citroen C4 Picasso (as opposed to the C4 Grand Picasso).

Not much details have been revealed but under the hood is a petrol-electric hybrid system that produces a joint peak output of 200 horsepower. Is this the 1.6 litre turbocharged BMW-Prince engine mated to an electric motor? CO2 output is 109g/km on the combined cycle or 0g/km in fully electric mode.

Nice design except for the hog nose grille. It is a x-over.

Firstly, its a concept car, so it will definitely not go on sale here, or anywhere else in the world.

and the Honda CRV is an SUV, this is supposed to eventually appear in production as an mpv according to paul. besides that, even if it were an SUV or xover, it will have an incredibly hard time trying to match the CRV in terms of sales in Malaysia.

I agree with you lowprofile. If Nazim bring this in Msia then the price will speak for the product. Like 407 vs Accord. It do give Honda some pressure.

err.. if anything, it was accord that put pressure on camry when launched, and camry is the market leader in malaysia..

i seriously doubt that either toyota or even honda noticed the 407.

yup. i agree with BanyakMasukWorkshop. they are not the least concerned with the 407. but imho, i’m pretty sure they do notice it because of it’s price and spec advantage against their products.

looks okay… the front design is as mentioned b4 is audi-sh and not that strange as if not mistaken peugeot bipper also spot kinda similar front design. well many other are inspired by audi front end design nowadays.

if it is bring here, this apply to whatever Peugeot model, most importantly is its price (car and spare part). Secondly after sales quality. Nasim better CKD and place it as value-for-money offering for it coz now european car is down in the pecking order (in the eye of Malaysian in general and worldwide also right?).

its all about H & T here, remember?

    one clear example:
    Jazz at around RM110K when…
similar body Myvi is at RM50K (okay its a Jap car also but its not badge as H or T). granted spec is not similar but at rm60K more?
swift and bestari also in same segment, both around RM68-75K.

if Jap H & T brand can command a premium, others especially Europrean can’t.

And that is a fact of life in malaysia auto market, respect that if u wanna have sales.
