So Toyota has lost inspiration.Look at their products.Very profitable and that means that it is not challenging.Look at their designs,ugly or not up to sales figures.I MEAN WHEN the only purpose for a firm is to be the most efficent and valuable they become afraid of renewing themseles so that they don’t fail.Alot and alot and alot of research and wait for a new model to make sure it will sell well.They do plastic cars now.Lorean cars are more durable interm of Body strentgh wise than Toyota(JAPAN GENERALLY)even chinese cars.money isn’t everything.That’s why I like companies like Ford,Hyundai/KIA.Mitsubishi.They have courage and renewing themselves and make bold moves and breakthroughs.Toyota like GM have ego and this will lead to ignorance and fail,ure.Just watch HYUNDAI/KIA and Toyota(Scion,Lexus,Daihatsu,Hano) by 2012

dON’T FORGET that Hyundai/KIA bought proto motors which is a sport car manufacturer in Korea and may become the next super car manufactuer especially that prices will be like 1/2 of Europe Brands and Prestige of a brand like HYUNDAI/KIA is getting already established by having the ceed and Azera and GENESIS AND sORENTO AND Mohave.I mean the forte will threathen it entire class in competition.THE MOHAVE TOO.GENESIS WILL BE NO1 after Merc,BMW,Lexus. 2.A more likeable, financially feasible take would be a 4 door super coupe Lamborghini, this is very likely as the only future ‘niche’ for supercar manufacturers other than downsizing their supercars or outstripping their supercars, would be super sedans, the likes of Porsche Panamera GT and Aston Martin Rapide are enough to push other manufacturers into this niche battle, and also get BMW, Audi and Merc sweating, as the supercars begin their backwards integration eating market shares of these luxury sedan manufacturers where the supercars had suffered quite a bit with 500hp BMWs and 600hp Mercedes.

In respond to ask82’s claim, NO, it’s not that easy to topple Toyota, their in a different league in terms of manufacturing, branding and marketing in enormous numbers. Currently all new models of Toyota on sale combined in the world (Including Lexus and Scion) is an amazing number of in excess of 80 models (excluding commercial). I don’t see VW or even Hyundai/Kia having half as many. They’re already abit like Nokia, count their total models available and compared that to Sony Ericsson.

While all other cars are continuing on strengthening their corporate brands, Toyota had already move on to individual model branding for their cars. Unilever Shampoo? Nope, Sunsilk, Dove ….

dat is bcoz theyre under vw group..so no wonder they getting better..if they stand alone..they still nt be able to stand bside ferrari in term of ride n handling etc…they just topple the ferrari in term speed..bt today…bcoz of vw group..they cn compete wit ferrari in every aspect..gd job…btw..its italian..soo…italian supercar is rock…

YES.VW GROUP IS DOING WELL THESE DAYS.also; Ferrari is owned by Fiat and it’s a F1 Champion team or was.This is a clear example of management and direction plannig.Fiat was the at top in the past.Was like GM NOW in tech and product variation and VW was the most european loser techincally Co. No direction no goal,just the beetle and the golf.What happened is VW planned to be Europe No.1.What did it need? NEEDED CASH 1st ofcourse and that was provided by government as it was Government linked company.It needed tech so it bought Audi.Needed lower class brand that sells alot cheap to maintain as a brand and that was by buying Skoda.NEEDED Image bought Lambo and Bugatti.Needed to kill Europe’s original Number one(Fiat) so bought Seat to position it against AlfaRomeo.The diff. betwwen the 2 that VW bought different brand from different Euro countries unlike fiat just close minded investing in ITALY AND also main positioning for Italy and Latin America.VW has a global aim plus ofcourse Good Managment.I HOPE PROTON GOT A PLAN AND A DIRECTION AND A GOOD HONEST CAPABLE MANAGMENT AS IT HAS TECH FROM LOTUS AND MV AUGUSTA WHICH DIDN’T BENEFIT AND GOV FUNDS THAT DIDN’T USE WELL.WHAT REMAINS IS MANAGEMENT AND DIRECTION

P.S:VW NOW IS OWN BY PORSCHE.(A group of premium highly capable brands)

VW GROUP in my opinion is the next GM with more Quality and PRESTIGE.

Proton Climax point is in 2009/2010(best years) and will tell if the company will survive alone or be bought or face disappearance like Daewoo.
