i own a 3rd generation honda odyssey. Very satisfied with the performance. Handling just like a car. Smooth and comfortable. Even smoother than the Malaysia's 2008 Honda Accord. My only regrets ... the cream color of the leather seat. I had to spend a few hundreds every year for maintanance.

bashherebashthere said,
September 22, 2008 @ 9:53 pm

my parents own the 2nd gen odessey, with 2 2 2(or 3? full seat behind) which is great since we can move fairly easily to 3rd row thanks to high roof, does the 3rd and 4th offer the same convenience? seriously the 3rd gen looks like it been squash

----------------------------------------------------------------

Guess this will still be applicable for the US/Canadian spec odessey (if not mistaken some parallel importer brought this to msia as Honda La Great..or something). Anyway, check canadiandriver.com website coz they have a nice & very informative review abt minivan ( minivan challenge) comparing nissan quest/chrysler T&C/ponyiac montana/masda5/honda odyssey/toyota sienna/hyundai entourage.

I actually like the Odyssey's concept. My sister had the 2nd generation 3.0L and now has the 3rd gen 2.4L in Spore.Despite the illusion that it is smaller due to the lower roof,(compared to estima) it is actually a very comfortable and spacious 7 seater. Most of all you can drive it like a car in terms of parking and cornering compared to the van like MPV's.I suppose it depends on what your needs are. If I had 5 cars with an extended family staying with me I probably would keep an estima or alphard as one of the cars. But if I had 2or 3 cars and had to drive the MPV fairly often I would go for the odyssey.(except for the price.....perhaps the grandis is a better buy at below 160K)
