Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback and Lancer Sportback Ralliart set for Paris 2008 debut

Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback Ralliart

Here are some new photos released of both the regular and Ralliart version of the Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback.

The Lancer Sportback is essentially a hatch version of the Lancer to attack the European market and currently has three engine choices – a 109 horsepower 1.5 liter, a 143hp 1.8 liter gasoline engine or a 2.0 liter turbodiesel with 140 horsepower. The 2.0 liter 4B11 that we’ve grown to know seems to be missing from the lineup, but the 1.8 liter unit is also from the 4B/GEMA family.

The Ralliart Lancer Sportback is powered by a 2.0 liter turbocharged engine tuned to produce less power than the Evo X but still registers a respectable 240 horsepower and 343Nm of torque on the crank.

This is mated to either a 5-speed manual or a Twin Clutch SST transmission. Word is that even the regular Lancer Sportback will be able to enjoy the Twin Clutch SST transmission, but we’ll see if this is true at the official unveiling at the 2008 Paris show.

Look after the jump for a full hi-res gallery of the Sportback and the Ralliart.

    Wheel base?
Clearly seen that the sedan was evolved from Sportback, instead of sportback evolved from sedan.

Nice n sweet, bet it will be 80+k for the 1.5li or either not coming to KL. Well, the 1.8li at 90+, 2.0li at 105+? Rough estimate based on what we had now.

lol, I canceled my order since they delayed my Lancer X from around x’mas till after Chinese New year. Then before Ramadan they called me and offer 106k for the GTi. Hilarious..
(n i hantam my dada for that, since i bought 1.8E Altis at 109..zzz)

the rear looks like chevrolet optra 5 to me.
    optra 5 = ugly.

but, lancer sedan’s rear is not a good sight too.

so, if either these two cars show up on your rear view mirror better dont let them through, just enjoy the beautiful sight in the mirror !
