Perhaps we are so used to expensive cars that we forget that cars are actually cheap to make.

If you take out profit margin (imagine how many levels you’ve got), distribution costs, TAXES, sales/support/service network, inventory costs, and basically any creature comfort out of the car, cars can be cheap. Imagine it being a moped or kapchai with a shell.

The old Saga probably cost proton way less than 10k to make – even considering the less than clean parts distributors Proton had to deal with. Yet the best price they sold it was for 27k, and not too long ago, they were selling at 35k. You think they made a loss at 27k? unlikely.
