Good design but proton must be follow japanese automaker before thier going to louch any model thier were invite targeting customer to choose any design to produce from external or internal looks. This is what Toyota and Honda practice.Proton should follow.
Quality must be improve.good design but lack on quality it worst.

It would seem that despite all that money spent on an overseas education you don't know what "ad hominem" really means. There isn't space here to explain, so do yourself a favor and read:

http://plover.net/~bonds/adhominem.html

About thailand, again you're changing your argument as you go along. Your tired tactic has always been to justify the NAP by favorably comparing Malaysia to a protected market (australia/thailand) without mentioning that said market is also protected, thus making it a false comparison. When someone calls you on it, suddenly you switch to the same old " Well at least we're better than (insert impoverished ASEAN country)" platitudes that the govt loves to trot out. And like the govt, you happily ignore the ridiculous advantages in natural resources, infrastructure and location that are the real reasons Malaysia is ahead of its less fortunate neighbors, though who knows how long that will last at this rate.

Incidentally, your description of cars being more expensive in Thailand is nothing more than a half-truth. While premium CBUs can be pricier there, CKD models like Vios are substantially cheaper. (Yes, OTR)

I mean really, when you have to resort to falsehoods, distortions and wolf cries of ad hominem to sustain your arguments, surely it's a bad sign?

Show me one instance in the globalised world where said person "create a car in a workshed" has been successful.

Developed countries had car industries based on competition as many companies started at roughly the same time with the same level of expertise. In the modern world, it is simply not possible to start from scratch and be competitive.

There are heaps of articles out there online about the history of the motoring industry if you are interested. In particular, look at how countries (who missed the intial car boom) develop their own motor industry - there isnt anything really unusual about malaysia.

You are an odd critic... most critics (regarding this i do agree with them actually) will state the need for mass production and lower costs.

"-.- i guess there will always be a market for cars like the Bufori.

I dont take too well to compliments and not interested in them either, im just asking everyone to be themselves and not let foolishly 'wise' plans, roadmaps or any other crap blind them. As i said let Abu or Ah Chong or Raju create a car in a workshed under a tree out of their own resources and i will buy it even if it falls to bits. Not the contraptions that come out of this bloody leach of a company.

-> Why are you rambling about electric cars when replying to my post? I didnt even bring it up. Perhaps you are replying to someone else? Anyway, Malaysia does have very good potential for clean hydroelectricity.

-> Regarding your point about the thai industry: Yes, that was my intention. Alot of people dont realize that regardless of how you look at it, a 50 year old country has a higher car ownership than other countries in the region - in other words, the affordability of cars has dropped very significantly in 50 years. To other readers, the australian example wasnt a sham. It was to provide prospective and correct misconceptions on what was going on, with hard numbers. But i'd figured that the thai example is easier to understand and more straightforward...and close to home.

I don't think that we need a waja replacement, just do away with the waja and launch perdana replacement ASAP and for perdana replacement try 2.0 CPS.

Also I hope that proton comes up with a putra replacement (RWD 1.8 or 2.0 CPS).

I also hope that persona CNG becomes taxi nation wide (better to have standard taxi). but to make that happen more NGV stations have to be set up.

Lastly for the savvy, they can do away with the renault engine and do a 1.0 or 1.2 campro IAFM

Lol ezra, there you go again, taking a protected market (thailand) and comparing it to malaysia and saying things aren't so bad. Guess you gave up on using australia as your sham example? But really, saying Thailand has no NAP when they have had high protectionist tariffs all along is either purposely deceitful or simply ignorant.

And yes, picking on someone's english is really lame, especially when it couldve been just a simple typo. You should be ashamed of yourself.

The roadmap does sound plausible, and should fit nicely with the abolishment of preferential tax breaks on the local industry.

I personally feel that for a small car company, having too many models is more of a burden than anything. Drop the waja line or merge it with the persona, then spend the additional available resources to push the MPV through ASAP.

knight_templar, please look at other countries who were developing their own automotive industries. Korea epricven banned foreign imports completely for a good 40 years to force hyundai and kia down the throats of its citizens without competition. Thailand took a different approach from malaysia… no NAP.. yet your friends in bangkok should be able to confirm that cars there are actually more expensive (OTR, not internet es) there than in malaysia. And btw i think you were referring to the quota system, not “quote system” - there is no such thing: proton was given preferential treatment by way higher taxes imposed on foreign imports.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Uhuh Shakespeare's in the house correcting english and all. Why dun u get alive and stop being naive?
Ten years down the road Proton will have another road map asking for more help and preferably 'special status'. U can already see the pitfalls in this roadmap. Let me tell you electric cars are not the solution to any problem. When your done using them where the heck do you plug them in for charging? your as*? You plug them back into the bloody electricity grid that uses hydrocarbon fuels you dumbhead! Whether its fuel cell or hybrid or any jargon they merely shift the problem from ur perspective.

but after reading knight_templer’s remarks, the last thing i expected is that a small car company like proton could turn someone into such an angry, angst ridden individual. my advice is, to chill dude, before you do something to hurt yourself.. better you channel all that hate into something more productive like..er..erm.. heavy metal music? or something like that.

Hi,

Proton should employ you as free lancer for their future car models, TheophilusChin.

Anyways, I still prefer your "Perodua Kici" (check previous posting in PaulTan.org). Haha.

Thailand took a different approach from malaysia... no NAP.. yet your friends in bangkok should be able to confirm that cars there are actually more expensive (OTR, not internet es) there than in malaysia. And btw i think you were referring to the quota system, not "quote system" - there is no such thing: proton was given preferential treatment by way higher taxes imposed on foreign imports.

Nice rendering TC. But not many of you guys know that it is just the first stage to make cars. After going throught the clay models and prototypes, the end product could be entirely different. If you want to see real car designers you can check out -http://cardesignnews.com/site/home/

Look at portfolio of "designers".

the first point itself made me feel like emptying my bowels in that Proton MD's face.
"Proton is in discussions with shareholders on the issue of strategic collaborations with a partner that could complement Proton’s existing markets instead of competing directly against it. Collaboration include areas like technology, vehicle platforms, improve efficiency, etc."

- Just admit you got no b*lls to survive on your own and given a chance you'll impose some idiotic quote system to help you survive. Your like a bloody castrated matador begging the raging bull not to gore you in the b*tt and send you flying sky high. Go and dielah you.

Next generation Waja and Perdana will be a partnership with other manufacturers. The Proton Waja replacement should be out by early 2010.
A decision to be made soon on a new engine family that will replace the Campro engine by 2014, preferably a collaboration with another company for better economies of scale.

- So basically the Waja and Campro is local b*lls*it and the people who bought them are third rate demented cows? Listen to that all you Proton fans, that what PROTON THINKS OF YOU. They make you buy their s*it and then proclaim a new strategy for 'better economies of scale'. The morons have no continuity in their plans what bloody roadmap are their talking about?

Im not going to go on anymore on this cow feces that has come out of the Proton MD's mouth. That fella should just get a daytime job as a clerk or despatch boy. And Proton has to go. Dont complain about fuel prices or taxes or inequality. Complain about your (YES! you who are reading this) inability to think with proper judgement and speak up for betterment. Proton must GO!
