only one thing.... CPS produce 125hp at 6500rpm! yes it's great for 1.6ltr engine. we all know this. what i'm concerned is.... our normal driving of mpv.....let's say at 3000rpm +- shud be at 110-120km/h. So... if to get the125hp at 6500 rpm meaning our speed is about at 220-250km/h???? for driving MPV?? goshhh! if we don't go for speed, we go for torque or pick-up...so.... anybody cud answer or already drive the exora....? any comments?

The MPV look a little bigger than Avanza then suprising the big giant running fast like Sedan.

So, the rumours about the MPv will using a 1.6 CamPro cps with light turbo seem quite true... who know we will drive/own a great MPV with a reasonble price next year...

so basically when proton still using vanilla engine, people will bash like vvt is the in stuff, when nissan use it, it seems most people dont talk much about it..

on the other hand, for mass production jap engine with variable valve timing are mostly with economic in mind and emission control, so more horse power through that is kind of out of question unless a better converter is developed to keep emission down while providing more power. like honda did to their newer gen engine in jazz/fit.

im not sure about cps's emission even tho they sell it in europe with old campro's carbon emission of around 155g, not bad for 1.6 but cps might increase or lower the emission, hopefully its the latter! cause its a nice engine, if they can improve the material used for making it will makes it even better!

and again, thx infinity for correcting my mistake b4 more rumor spreads :)

fastcx, i think u should get yr facts right...mct is comparing the 1.6 g. livina engine, in which it is not the MR family, but HR...and it is without variable valve timing system..

"The basic NIssan Grand Livina is the 1.6 liter manual model powered by the HR16DE. This is not exactly the same HR16DE as the one in the Nissan Latio though, somehow Tan Chong has elected to equip the Grand Livina 1.6 with a variant of the HR16DE that does not have variable valve timing."

quoted from:
http://paultan.org/archives/2007/12/20/nissan-grand-livina-16-and-18-unveiled-in-malaysia/

perhaps u shouldn't live too far in the future...

fastcx, i think u should get yr facts right…mct is comparing the 1.6 g. livina engine, in which it is not the MR family, but HR…and it is without variable valve timing system..

“The basic NIssan Grand Livina is the 1.6 liter manual model powered by the HR16DE. This is not exactly the same HR16DE as the one in the Nissan Latio though, somehow Tan Chong has elected to equip the Grand Livina 1.6 with a variant of the HR16DE that does not have variable valve timing.”

mct,
cps isnt variable valve tech, it only have 2 profiles like vtec. vim provide another 2 type of intake length, so basically its only 3 steps system, not variable! saying livina's isnt vvt tech engine isnt correct either..."The MR is a family of straight-4 all-aluminum automobile engines with variable valve timing co-developed by Renault and Nissan." search online please -.-" get your fact right! stop living in stone age!

Si-Fu,

Thanks for answering all the questions. I know there is not much that you can reveal as most of the information is confidential. However...... I have 1 more tempting question to ask you which does not relate to this MPV (sorry for the Off Topic paul):
Is there currently a 1.3 CPS engine in development? Possibly for the Saga Hi-Line?

the cps should not be compare to g.livina engine as the livina engine have nothing but a doch and full alluminium stucture and while the cps have variable valve lift and one thing for sure is that the mpv need torque more than horsepower and this is true for a reality world. even g.livina 1.6 engine produced a 15.3kgm while cps is putting 15.1kgm and the torque curve of cps is not as even as the 1.6 livina ,hope proton could do something for that but from what i heard is that the engine would maintain its 80% of torque from 2000 rpm onward

waja2000, i dont think easily is the word they after...most likely, adequately while not overheating the engine. i believe they tested it be4.

unless they r using 1.8L n above, then i think "easily" is possible.
