Shell: The Cars of James Bond Collection

Shell Malaysia is becoming quite well-known for offering little collectible toy models of various cars related to its various tie-ups through it’s fuel stations in Malaysia. If I’m not mistaken, the last promotion for a collection of Ferraris in conjunction with the F1 season, and the latest is a range of James Bond cars.

The car above is of course the sexy Aston Martin DBS which was used throughout the previous Bond movie but only made a short but worthwhile appearance at the beginning of the latest Quantum of Solace movie.

This one is the Aston Martin DB5. Sexy in a very retro way. You can see the traditional Aston Martin grille has been kept until today.

The Sunbeam Alpine Series II was driven by Sean Connery in Dr No. The roadster had a 1.6 litre engine producing 80 horsepower.

This Lotus Esprit made an appearance in The Spy Who Loved Me, and later a special version appeared in For Your Eyes Only where it could also function as a submarine. As evident from the image, above the toy version shows it in submarine mode.

The BMW Z3 Roadster appeared in Golden Eye, the 17th James Bond movie. It’s now considered to be 2 generations old, as BMW has just unveiled the latest 2010 BMW Z4, stay tuned for an update later tonight.

The Shell James Bond collectible cars are sold at Shell petrol stations nationwide, and tomorrow is the last day of availability so if you want them, get them quick! Each car is priced at RM5.50 with a minimum purchase of RM40 worth of any Shell fuel, or with the purchase of Shell Helix in 3L or 4L sizes.

The manufacturing quality of these bond collectible cars are really bad. Thot to get the DBS but decided not to when saw it. Shell Malaysia, please take note.

okla for 5.50 per car. Don’t just look at the car, look at the whole package man. Got them all. Also collect the previous series. Damn nice marketing strategy. I’ve seen people selling those shell collectibles on ebay. You might be surprise the price double or even triple the original price. As for me just an avid collector not a seller. cheers.
