McLaren Mercedes SLR Stirling Moss Speedster

SLR Stirling Moss

At one point it was thought that the SLR Roadster 722 S was the last product to come out of the partnership between Mercedes-Benz and McLaren, but there’s now a new “crowning glory” to the SLR range, the SLR Stirling Moss.

0 to 100km/h will take only 3.5 seconds thanks to its supercharged V8 engine. The spartan SLR Stirling Moss has no roof or side windows, just two wind deflectors a couple of cm in height to protect the driver and passenger from the airflow. The air scoops integrated into the bodywork also double up as rollover bars in case something undesirable happens.

This is one expensive track car paying homage to the old 300 SLR, and is only limited to 75 units to be produced between June 2009 to December 2009. You’ll have to fork out 750,000 Euros for it. wow!!!

You will find a hi-res gallery and a video after the jump.

Wow!! Not only the cars that I’m amazed of… the size of the pictures are Super HD at 6000×2800 pixels.

I think I need more than 40 inch sized LCD screen to view the pics on 100% scale.

Not only it has no side window and roof, the wind screen is missing too. Center rear mirror as well, no place to mount it.

Driving car like this on Malaysia roads, one should prepare:

[1] Baseball glove, you need it to catch stones when a lorry is ahead of you

[2] Sun block, skin cancer would kill before the car does

[3] Gas mask / GP helmet, forget ’bout it if one prefers freshly released gas from heavy vehicle / diesel engines

[4] Raining coat, not only useful during raining days, it also block splashing water from opposite road

These really make more fun to the driving experience.

it is really a track machine, not a practical road car……
