well…. its something which is far too long run…. I think in 80 years time, petroleum source sure gone…. Untill current research by scientist, they still sayin’ that nothin’ in the world can replace petroleum…. I guess even if we had cars in 80 years time, i dont thik so we’ll have powerful cars with bigger cc cars anymore, like bugatti, all those BMW M5, S500 and so on…. What we would be able to see is that 10 cc or less than 50 cc smart car with a top speed of less than 50 km/h…. Thats what i think…. even with the hydrogen as source, it is identified that it is very very dangerous though the waste product is water bcoz they can cause explotion at certain circumstances….

Societies will differ from one location to another, as well fiancial strength and political power. There will be a noticeable shift though, Malaysia will be the new super power at that time, after we managed to unite East Asia and the Middle East and form a conglomerate that controls major raw materials and emerging new technologies of the world, thanks to Japarea (Japan decided to merge with Korea).

There is one currently possible development which any car manufacturers can start working on right now. I saw this on Astro actually. It is where the designer removes the engine altogether from the front bonnet and replaces it with 4 smaller electric motor located directly on the wheels. The rims of the wheels becomes the rotor and the stator connects to the suspension systems. This is reversed from conventional motor where the rotating part (rotor) is the inner shaft and the fixed part is the outer casing (stator). An ECU regulates the speed of each individual motors, making it an all wheel drive car.

What’s more important though is this configuration eliminates gearbox, transmission system and all of its moving components complications and maintenance requirement. With proper ECU regulation, there is no need for a separate braking system either. By reversing the polarity, the motor itself effectively becomes the brake. The designer estimated at least 30% in weight reduction and a sizeable amount of efficiency improvement.

So far, the system has been tested in bicycle, (thus turning it into a motorcycle), and on a all terrain vehicle.

It was so simple, elegant and effective. Why haven’t we thought of it before!

but to predict the future is a big picture.. We not ever known eiter the future is good or not.. If good okaylah, if not.. what if it end with more destruction ie, eartquake more often.. tsunami, hurricane everywhere, earth up heat critical due global warming .. bla bla bla none the less.

but… i like to have a ‘teleportation’ one..
so no need to drive, push a button, zasssss. you already there..
then .. driving a car is just as a hobby. like playing a toy..

expect thing to be more compact… more eco.. uses less energy. not just the vehicle will be smarter, but expect the whole system and even the road to be smarter. there will be a central transport system… instead of individual owned vehicle as we seen today.

Well personally I think, our future cars/transportations will be like in the Minority Report movie… check it out….
